    The Lord's work calls.

Rodney's stolen a trumpet and woken the household, he's baffled to learn that a smartly dressed Del Boy is going to Church.

I've always enjoyed this one, perhaps not a classic or particularly memorable, but it's amusing enough, and it gives us an insight into Del's character.

There are several very amusing moments. Rodney splashing Albert's breakfast with the bottle of Brut, grim, that stuff was potent back in the day. Del Boy trying to genuflect, but getting it hopelessly wrong, and Carmina Burana blasting out.

Sometimes we get to see this very different side of Del Boy, sure he'a a wheeler dealer, but underneath it he's a very sweet, caring man, who battles for what's right, here we see him at his best.

    7/10.

    The Miracle of Peckham

This is a typical relatively early 'Only Fools' episode, that focuses on a small plot, has some nice lines and moments, but perhaps runs out of steam before the end.

The quality of John Sullivan's writing though is never to be overly doubted, and the interaction between Del Boy, Rodney and Uncle Albert is now nicely established.

The nice moments do outweigh any criticism though.

Led Like an Artificial Lamb to the Slaughter.

A second disappointing episode from series 5.

A silly plot, which I don't have a problem with and which hasn't hampered episodes in the past, but in this one it falls flat and runs out of steam early on, dragging along for the rest of the episode.

Rodney gets a pretty run-of-the-mill subplot as well.

Worth watching but don't get your hopes up.

The scene where Rodney sprinkles Del's aftershave over Albert's kipper was done without telling Buster Merryfield. Thus, his reaction to the kipper's aftershave taste was genuine. Reportedly, Merryfield was initially irritated by this.
