As a car race this series goes around in circles

This episode, the last of the show, is really uninteresting. The producers had to fill up the twenty four episodes list. This one is forgettable, among the worst of the show. The first part of the series that took place on the French Riviera was far more interesting, exciting, funny, than the second part that took place mostly in England. This car race tale is so lame, that even Danny Wilde and Brett Sinclair hardly save the whole. The director Peter Medak began his career here, twenty years before his best work: THE KRAYS. It's a good thing that PERSUADERS stopped after this one. Roger Moore preferd becoming agent 007, and he was right.

    Someone Waiting

Brett has gone back into motor racing, but someone is out to get him.

It is a deadly cat and mouse affair. While Brett is testing his car on the track, there is what looks like a dead body on the track. It turns out to be a dummy.

Danny turns minder and gets into a grouop that are into motor race fixing worldwide. It is led by Louise Cornell (Lois Maxwell.)

Brett thinks the culprit is someone from his past.

Written by Terry Nation, this should had tighter writing. You do end up thinking who could had placed a dummy in the middle of a race track track and disappeared without someone noticing.

The race fixing subplot went nowhere. This was the final episode and it underwhelmed.

In fact the whole series ended up different from what it was meant to be. Brett and Danny righting wrongs on behalf of that judge.

    • Goofs
The pianist at the bar is obviously not playing what we are hearing as his hands are barely moving no matter how many notes we hear.
    • Quotes

Morley Lyndon: Incidentally, I didn't make a sound when I approached you, and yet I felt that you knew I was there.

Lord Brett Sinclair: Cheap aftershave. They don't remove enough of the alcohol. I'm still getting terrible whiffs!
