The Man in the Middle
He gets caught up in an espionage plot as Brett helps out Judge Fulton. By impersonating a British agent planning to defect and selling secrets to the Eastern bloc.
Danny Wilde is left wondering just who has the brains in the Sinclair family.
This is a silly romp enlivened by Terry Thomas. He is even viewed with suspicion at one point.
For Terry-Thomas Fans
Terry-Thomas had previously appeared with Tony Curtis in the eggregiously-titled "Those Daring Young Men in their Jaunty Jalopies" and the two have a better rapport than Terry-Thomas has with his alleged relative, Moore.
The token female is Suzy Kendall but, caught between Curtis (one of the biggest male movie stars of the 1960s), Moore (soon to be one of the biggest movie stars of the 1970s) and Terry-Thomas (being forever Terry-Thomas), she never stood a chance.
A very enjoyable episode, highlighted by Terry-Thomas' teaching the others how this sort of comedy is done. He's still the master.
Fun but dated

- TriviaLord Sinclair's passport reveals his date of birth as 10th November 1930 and his place of birth as 'Mucknieth'. You can look on any map for as long as you like, but Mucknieth does not actually exist. His passport goes on to list his height as 6ft 3in and that he has 'blond' hair and blue eyes. It also lists his country of residence as Scotland and not England.
- GoofsAs the heroes are driving to exchange Archie for the girl, the scene behind the car is obviously fake and the green screen is even reflected on the bonnet of Brett's car.
- Quotes
Lord Brett Sinclair: [cool about being much taken with the pretty girl waiting in his room] Well, the note says that a parcel has been delivered to my room.
Kay Hunter: You're disappointed?
Lord Brett Sinclair: Not at all. I think the gift-wrapping is superb. May I offer you a drink?
Kay Hunter: No, thanks. I'm here on business.
Lord Brett Sinclair: [used to ladies waiting for him in his room] Oh? Well, may I be so naïve as to inquire what your line is?
Kay Hunter: I work for British Intelligence.
Lord Brett Sinclair: Oh? Isn't that just great? I rather hoped you were a gift from the Italian Tourism Board.
Kay Hunter: I'll have to ask you to come along with us.
Lord Brett Sinclair: [as a beefy man enters] Us?
Kay Hunter: The game, as they say, is up, Lord Sinclair. I do hope you'll cooperate and not cause any trouble.
Lord Brett Sinclair: Well, could I ask you to offer me some proof that you are British?
Kay Hunter: [to the burly man] Show him our proof.
[man takes out gun from inside jacket pocket]
Kay Hunter: Convinced?
