Tony Lo Bianco is not a stranger in this tremendous TV show. He has already been used with the same police officer character. Anyway, everybody knows that Tony Lo Bianco was a recurrent figure of the crime shows and movies during the seventies. Many stories involving cops or Italian mafia gangsters...
This story makes no exception in this terrific series. It speaks of a buddy cops scheme tracking down a bomber extortionist. Of course, we can prefer Bert Gordon's MAD BOMBER which focused only on the criminal instead of the cops. Here, of course, this is mainly question of the heats and their private life problems, dates and all the stuff. After all, this series is dedicated to the police force. I won't spoil you the episode any more, just enjoy. It's worth watching for those who love crime stories from the seventies.

Tony Lo Bianco and Don Meredith played detectives Bert Jameson and Tony Calabrese in four episodes of "Police Story"...so many that I wonder if they were considering doing a spin off series with this pair. It wouldn't have been a bad thing if they did, as the episodes with the pair all were quite good.
This particular show concerns a bomber who is trying to extort money out of a company or he promises to start detonating bombs. The problem is at first they have very little to go on. Ultimately, the bomber ends up being played by Donny Most...yes, Ralph from "Happy Days". In addition to this plot, Calabrese begins to fall for one of his witnesses (Donna Mills) and he strongly considers having an affair with her. As for Bert, he's the typical Bert...dating all sorts of women and enjoying the bachelor life.
Because I was so familiar with the characters, I found myself caring for what happened to them...a sign of a decent episode. Well written and pretty cool seeing Ralph Malph playing a bomber!!
