    Marvellous! Pure!

You know, i watched DT when i was a kid, loved it, but i barely remember anything. Watched MMPR, Zeo and Turbo(on disk) like +- 5 years later and it seemed to me quite boring and repetitive. But still, sometimes, in some way i felt the glimpse of this cool kids show atmosphere, and i should say, god this one threw me(quite serious and picky "high" staff lover) back to my childhood. Wow, couldn't see that coming) You know, rewatching all the shows as an adult and cinema lover i can't even remember single project, that gave me that kind of emotion. You know, this episode feels like the episode of cool sitcom show, except that nearly every sitcom much worse than we can remember. It is so strange. You know, this will sound weird, but i've got alike emotions when i was watching sitcom parts of WandaVision show, you know there is something so funny and cool about these parts, so light, so warm, so chill, so calming, so known and needed. Like it lets you just watch itself without any effort and gives you a lot of joy. And not only that, i always thought, that the person that i'm today that passed so many negative experiences, can't just let go negative emotion all around me, forget about everything, but i just spent 15 minutes with smile, with the true kid smile, that was priceless. Yep the ending was weak and standard, but the rest is flawless.

I just can't handle that Asian silliness

Look, I don't want to blanket condemn an entire culture: I do love a fair amount of Japanese media. "Dark souls" and "Silent Hill" series of games are absolutely fascinating to me, for starters. But even as a kid I had a great difficulty handling a lot of children-targetting Japanese entertainment like anime. Call it a culture clash, but the way it so commonly ends up being simultaneously sexually-perverted (clearly targetting adults) _and_ infantile (seemingly targetting toddlers before they develop any kind of reasoning) just rubs me the wrong way (one or the other, please, preferably the former). As does its very characteristic and deeply bizarre inability to maintain a consistent tone, leading to serious or tragic scenes being immediately overshadowed by self-mockery. Maybe it's just that Japanese media tends to take itself less seriously, which is something that I hate in entertainment - I love a good comedy, but please have it in a world that has its own rules and doesn't just bend to create whatever the hacks writing it want, thus requiring them to actually show some writing skill by having to arrange all the elements right!

This much less edited than usual "Super sentai" franchise episode (together with "In your dreams" later on) contains some of that wackiness that is too wacky for mainline "Power rangers" - and what can I say, if "PR" was consistently like that, I would hate it (even more). What's with these ADHD animated effects every half a minute? Why is no effort at all made to blend the art and live-action into something cohesive? To make the world or the characters believable? It's like everything that I hate about "PR" in a concentrated package. Fascinating as it is, I never want to see anything like it again.

In the episode "Lost & Found in Translation", the rangers were watching an episode of "Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger", which is the show it was adapted from. Here, it was just a Japanese TV show dubbed in English.
    • Quotes

Conner McKnight: [the Power Rangers are watching a Japanese show based on themselves] Oh, come on, that is *so* a guy in a rubber suit.

Ethan James: No one said this was a documentary. Use your imagination.

Conner McKnight: Like anyone's going to believe a combination bear-mushroom-ATM monster.
