I just love and hate it!

Actually I just have seen the whole seasons for maybe 3 weeks. It took my whole evening and dawn watching it. When i get up in the morning @ 9 this is the first thing in my mind and sat up to 4Am just to watch this. I considered this series as a wonderful gift for me. I realized that there is really love for gay people. It gives all people in the world justice to the word "equality". But, what strikes me the most is the ending of the season, until now, i still cant believe this should be the planned scene which should serve as the ending. It broke my heart very badly that made me promise not to watch any series anymore. I don't mean to give negative reviews about it but that's how i felt. Actually, I promised myself not to watch this "series" thing because it really gets me trouble and will not get out of my mind for very long time most especially if endings are not happy for me. I have waited and cried so much waiting for them to be happily wedded couple and live happily ever after but it disappointed me. I somehow knew the purpose of the writers to do this to leave the ending to the viewers but it really gave me a load of heartbreaks.(Well, i never can cope to the scenarios in the movie since i have not experience this 'love' thing which made me realized also that this 'no love' thing hurt me as for Justin and Brian). I planned not to finish the last 4 minutes of the final episode because i have some intuition that it will really happen but still continued hoping that in the last 30 seconds Justin will show himself and somehow gives smile to Brian. (Well, if that was the ending, Ill be able to sleep and gives a very happy ending to it and can sleep on time starting this day but it wasn't) I never planned to write a review but its my very way to get all my heartaches this series has given me.But frankly i still hated the way it ended. (I swear that i will not watch any series may it be like this or any genre because I cant recover that fast). Its not about persuading people not to watch this 'series'or any other but i meant it for myself only.I have bargained my study time, workout, etc for this but it left me frustrated.(Well, i would not watch anymore even in other movie genre).

On the other side, COngratulations to the all the people involved in this because it was a very excellent job. I may not be reacting this way if they have not given a story which is like this and casts who are like them which means it's just so brilliant! This review could not be very useful since its 11 years ago but a great job from everyone part of this.

I love you Justin and Brian!

    "We will survive"

For those who have missed the opportunity to watch this series, I have great sympathy. Without spoiling anything, I can safely say that the final episode leaves you with so much mixed emotion. You want to laugh. You want to cry. You feel joy. Your heart breaks. It's like watching your best friend driving off into the sunset. You don't know if you would ever see him again, but you draw happiness from the fact that he is now immortal and you didn't have to watch him die, or become something you wouldn't recognize. A blaze of glory. a shining inspiration. Unforgettable. That's how Queer as Folk will always be remembered. We hope to see a film very soon.

    Disappointing ending

Queer as Folk was a stellar series, focusing on cutting edge topics with engaging characters and storylines. Unfortunately it falls prey to so many other series, not providing an ending that is satisfying to so many who watched the series faithfully. The story was about Brian and Justin. Everyone else is coupled up and happy at the end. The writers chose to separate Brian and Justin. Left me totally unhappy. Not at all clear why the writers made that decision. About the only thing that could have been worse was to kill them in the explosion at Babylon. Bit then at least that way they would have been together. 10 thumbs down to the writers. 10 thumbs up to the cast!

I am still waiting to find out if Justin becomes famous and if him and Brian ever commit.

Brian and Justin were the reason I watched the show, I still watch every once in a while I have the entire series on DVD. I wish they would do a movie, to let me and other fans know what happens. I feel like I was left hanging. It would have to be with the original cast Randy Harrison, Gale Harold, Sharon Gless, Thea Gill,Peter Paige, etc. I am a huge fan of Randy Harrison, and Gale Harold, and Peter Paige. I loved Emmet, this character reminds me of my brother, Terry he is larger than life, and very comfortable with his sexuality, and always has been. I really need closure, I have been waiting 3 years for a movie and nothing. I hate that the show ended.

I would really love to know what Randy is doing now. I know he is Gay and I am about 12 years his senior but I have the biggest crush on him. I just can't help myself. He has the most perfect butt, and his eyes, and lips are to die for. I would love to meet him, and just have a conversation with him not about the show but about him and what he wants and desires out of life. I love the show but I also know that Justin is a fictional character, and Randy is probably nothing like him. I have checked out some bios but they tell nothing about him now, and what he is doing. I do know he does a lot of theater work and from what I understand that is his love, the stage not t.v. or movies. I would love to see him perform soon but I don't know where and when he is performing.

Michael: [last line of the series] So the thumpa-thumpa continues. It always will, no matter what happens, no matter who's President. As Our Lady of Disco, the Divine Miss Gloria Gaynor, has always sung to us, "We will survive."
