    Anyone for tennis?

Greer Stevens is also the name of a highly ranked South African tennis player of the time, winning the Wimbledon mixed doubles in 1977 & 1979.

    The Arrangement

A little darker in tone compared to the other episodes, with a punk club scene, which is strange to see in a Saint episode, the Aarangement is about the psychotic Lady Greer played Carolyn Seymour who tells Sarah Douglas that she can kill her husband if she kills her husband. Of course, they're both drunk, so Douglas think it's just talk, but she soon learns how serious Greer is. Can Simon Templar stop her plans?

It's an intense episode, greatly acted by Carolyn Seymour, and it mildly intriguing, but personally I found it too downbeat and not as fun as, let's say, Appointment in Venice. I guess I like a more typical, adventurous Saint episode than one with a dark, realistic tone.

    The Arrangement

Lady Greer Stevens (Carolyn Seymour) is a psychotic woman whose husband is government minister. Sheila Northcott (Sarah Douglas) is a famous novelist whose husband is a drunk.

Both women are unhappy with their husbands. On a plane ride, Greer makes a suggestions. She bumps off Sheila's husband. Later Sheila can do the same for her husband.

Sheila agrees thinking that Greer is joking. Simon Templar who was on the plane with them soon finds out that Greer is deranged. She trips a drunken man down the escalator.

Later Sheila's husband is found dead, thought to be suicide.

Clearly inspired by Strangers of a Train. I was surprised that The Saint did not eavesdrop on this conversation as he sat next to them on the plane.

The plot is mainly no one heeding The Saint's warnings as Greer and her husband are well connected.

It is a darker episode even a lusty one by the way Greer eyes up her home help Nina. Sheila's sister is abducted and pumped full of drugs after she reneges on the deal.

Seymour certainly camps it up. That kitschy feel continues in the Marque club scene with a bad rock band performing. It should had been called Strangers on a Plane.

Simon Templar: [narrating] Charming, attractive, brilliant. They even make a simple game of backgammon seem something mysterious. Two lovely young ladies with all the allure of playing with nitride glycerol. Sheila Northcott, novelist, women's libber, soon to be divorcee. And Lady Greer, swinging wife of Sir Trevor Stevens, MP.
