    Good But...

The invaders want info from NORAD, so Vincent must deal with a Major with attitude, and his wife.

This is a season opener. Are you new to this series? Intro required. In it's day this series was once described as a show for "graduates of Irwin Allen". Meaning fans of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea will like this series but you may need to think a bit more than you did with Voyage. The series also has much in common with QM's The Fugitive series (1963-67), in fact after watching all 43 episodes of The Invaders you will have a desperate desire to get The Fugitive DVD box set (all 120 episodes of it), just to keep yourself in that QM-man-on-the-run world. But back to Invaders season two opener.

Condition: Red is a fine episode but it is not a great season opener. An opener is meant to give the viewer a hint of what lies ahead in the coming season, Condition: Red does not do that, in fact it makes you feel that season two is just the same as season one: which it is not.

Season two is filled with better plots than season one, but not better music.

All episodes about the US military are good and this one is no exception. The beginning and end of this episode use a very memorable tunnel at the end of the road, I know the tunnel has been used in 100 other shows, but I just can't remember which ones?

    • Trivia
At approximately 8 minutes in, the console the second man from the left is sitting at is the same console used as the O.B.I.T. machine used in The Outer Limits "O.B.I.T.". For The Outer Limits a large "mixing bowl" shaped viewing screen was added.
    • Goofs
Heavy bombers are pictured responding to a N.O.R.A.D. Code Red. Only interceptors respond to that incidence.
    • Quotes

Narrator: [Epilog Narration] The Invader has lost a battle. But David Vincent knows that, somewhere in space, new strategies are already being devised. For the war has only begun.
