    Mid-Life Love Story!

I give this episode 10 stars for its mid-life love story.

Not all marriages start early in life and not all marriages start deep in love; such storylines are rare in entertainment these days.

I appreciate the thoughtful sentiments and wise advice that Olivia and John share with Corabeth and Ike in this episode.

I also appreciate the storyline as it that captures the idea that love and marriage aren't the same for everyone; and that what matters is finding someone who cares, sharing life with them, and growing with them.

Bachelor Life Doesn't Have To Be Permanent

This episode is a little slow at times. The Erin back story helps move this along. Corabeth isn't the best marriage material. And it's not clear what anyone would see in her. This would work better as a subplot instead of a main story line. I agree with reviewer who said Ralph Waite does well in this movie. The scene in the French Restaurant is intriguing if you're a fan of eateries. Don't understand why John Ritter isn't the minister at the Wedding. Corabeth is a non starter as a character. Far from a game changer. She can be down right annoying. Somehow I got through episode as well as the word minimum.

When John Boy and Erin are speaking outside the house, the shadow on Erin's face changes. In the full shot, the right side of her face is mostly sunlit. In the medium shot, her face is in full shadow.
    • Quotes

Narrator: [narration as John 'John Boy' Walton, Jr. reading from his journal] When you're part of a family where eleven people live under one roof, you're not likely to spend much time thinking about loneliness; you're more likely to be looking for ways to have even a few minutes by yourself. But, I remember a visitor who showed us all the face of loneliness, not only her own, but that of a man close to us, a man we had, until then, taken for granted, but had never really known.
