    My Tongue Is Meat

This feels a bit like a filler episode, but it is nice at least to see some attempts at developing the character of Charlie a little bit more.

This of course was in the days when such things were possible, and before the show just became a run of seemingly never ending sex jokes.

    An ok episode.

    • Trivia
This is J.D. Walsh's first appearance in the series as Gordon. Charlie and Gordon are introduced to each other as if this is the first time they have met. His original appearance was actually in season one, in I Can't Afford Hyenas (2004) as a pizza guy who repeatedly thanked "Mr. Harper" for his generous tip. No one speaks his name in the episode but he is listed as Ted in the credits.

    • Quotes

Berta: [about Charlie's behavior around Mia] Considerate?

Charlie Harper: Yeah. See, I love Mia and I want her to be happy. And I happen to know she's not happy when I smoke cigars and drink and gamble and stay out all night, and eat meat and sugar and grease and fat, and nap and swear and wear shorts, bowling shirts...

Berta: Charlie, you ain't just whipped. You're roped, saddled and gelded. They could use you to give rides at kids' birthday parties.
