Homer to the Max

Homer to the Max is a great Simpsons episode with a well written plot and a ton of very funny scenes. In the episode, we see Homer go through a series of different emotions concerning a character on a television series having the same name as him. As the plot progresses, the episode continues to get more ridiculous and far fetched, that you can not help but smile, cause you know the crew had great fun writing it.

I did feel it could have gone further. It got a little too grounded, this cod have been an unforgettable episode if it let itself go a little more wild, instead it levels itself to a degree that it is fun while you watch, but not particularly memorable.

The satire in this episode is stellar, the clips from the buddy cop show were hilarious, showcasing the type of television people watch these days. Bill Clinton also plays a reasonably big part in this episode, and the series' parody of the former US President is side splitting hilarity every moment he is on screen.

It is a very fun 20 minutes while it lasts. While its not the strongest of the tenth season, Homer to the Max is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

Homer changes his name to Max Power after a clumsy TV show character is named Homer Simpson.

The Simpsons are watching the new "Mid-Season" on TV. What's brilliant about this episode is the inside jokes on Television series Producers. "Police Cops" parody of police TV shows was brilliant. One of the cool cops is named "Homer Simpson" and Homer is surprised by that. Soon the whole town admires Homer, not long enough the cool Homer Simpson cops is changed into a goofy fat character who is made fun off all the time. The town makes fun of Homer, who decides to battle his name - eventually loses and decides to change his name to Max Power. There is a great satire there on Bill Clinton as he is portrayed as a person who sleeps even with pigs. 8 out of 10.

I don't know why I like this episode it's just hilarious.

Homer and family are watching some of the shows for the new TV season. One is called Police Cops and one of the heroic figures is a guy named. But Homer Simpson. He is more than heroic--he is "the" hero. Soon our Homer is getting all kinds of attention. People assume he is as amazing as the TV guy. But when the next show is on, it is realized that the first episode was just a pilot and now Homer is an incompetent buffoon. Homer has changed his name to Max Power but it has no effect. This is an entertaining episode with lots of transitions. Of course, it's to show the fickle nature of the viewing public.

This one evokes 'In Marge We Trust' and the Mr. Sparkle debacle (Homer once again in a lather over his name/likeness being co-opted), and while it doesn't reach those heights, it's a solid episode in its own right. It begins with a scathing appraisal of TV culture and ends up with Homer saving some trees from deforestation. Absurd, but still entertaining; mostly because of the memorable Max Power persona.

And I have to confess to loving "Police Cops", and its riff on Crockett and Tubbs. Yeah, I'd watch it.
