    Grandma's Kisses/Squidville

Grandma's Kisses is a really bad episode and Squidville is and good solid one

What I learned about Grandma's kisses.

I had a grandmother years ago and she didn't do anything to embarrass me at all.

There Is a Plothole With Squidville

I didn't really like Grandma's Kisses. I mean, it's OK but fell short with humor and felt a bit mean-spirited in some scenes. It's probably one of the weakest of Season 2.

While I do think Squidville is better, Squidville suffers a major plothole: Did Squidward continue working at the Krusty Krab?

This is important because if Squidward's main goal was to never see Spongebob again, he would still have to work at the Krusty Krab with him. And they missed the opportunity to have Tentacle Acres jobs. Although it's still a VERY funny episodes that does save it from this plothole. And it is one because Squidward working at the Krusty Krab is an important element of the show. Squidward working at the Krusty Krab still would mean a longer travel distance since he asserted he would move so far away from Spongebob and Patrick.

Grandma's Kisses is a 6/10 and Squidville is a 7/10, and it would be at a 9/10 had that information been addressed. I chose to round to 7/10 due to how well the humor held up in Squidville.

Nuance in Spongebob - Grandma's Kisses & Squidville (Personal Favorites)

Grandma's Kisses: Although this episode may seem to fall flat on its face with the concept of "growing up" and just seem like an annoying 12-minute episode of bullying, this episode in my opinion doesn't.

It's an honest, more real, yet comical, piece of just growing up that everyone has to face, being nostalgic and all that. I feel Spongebob here; I don't want to grow up. However, we gotta still remember that we need to be who we are and that we should embrace the opportunity and love that we get from our younger selves, carrying those qualities later in life.

It seems pretty far-fetched in my opinion writing this, but I really just do feel the passion and just heart and soul put out by Stephen on here

Squidville: Yet another episode in Spongebob which is a truly iconic one. While containing some of the best Spongebob jokes and memes yet, it's another reality check for its viewers. It's a take on American life and how we're always trying to live like the same, reaching that medium where everything feels redundantly ill

It's a message you gotta take cause if you're just trying to lie behind the social constraints to express who you are, you're just another resident of Squidville.

Patrick: You're a man now, SpongeBob, and it's time you started acting like one.

SpongeBob: Yeah! Oh, but I'm not sure I know how.

Patrick: Allow me to demonstrate. First, puff out your chest.

      [SpongeBob puffs out his chest]

      Patrick: Now say, "tax exemption."

      SpongeBob: Tax exemption.

Patrick: Now you must develop a taste for free-form jazz.

[Both listen intently to jazz music]

      Patrick: Okay, you're ready.
