    A Daughter's Confession

Julia Desmond, a famous fashion designer has an abusive gambler boyfriend, when he is killed, her daughter says she did it.

Just an OK episode, not up to the standards of the first 4 seasons. Most interesting thing is seeing Oscar winner Dorothy Malone (Written On The Wind 1956) as Julia. Her daughter is played by Leslie Ackerman, but her acting is awkward. Stone and Robbins don't believe her story. She was a witness to the crime and the real killer comes after her.

    • Trivia
The killing of mobster Johnny Stompanato was the basis for this episode. Stompanato had a year long physically abusive extramarital affair with actress Lana Turner and when he was stabbed to death at her home in 1958, her then 14 year old daughter Cheryl Crane claimed responsibility for the act. The killing was deemed justified. Ever since then many have suspected that Turner herself committed the act and allowed her daughter to falsely confess to the stabbing.
