    Very enjoyable take over

It is very easy to say that the premise for "Toons Take Over" is not a novel one. The thing though it is a premise that is still a great one and has been done incredibly well many times. So no matter how many times it's been done, it's pretty timeless. It's a premise that is not a new one for 'Tiny Toon Adventures', that though doesn't matter as it was done brilliantly the other times it was done and it is something that animation in general does so well.

"Toons Take Over" may not be one of the best episodes of 'Tiny Toon Adventures' (despite how some of my reviews for other episodes sound this is coming from somebody who likes the show enormously), or one of the best individual story episodes of the show. It is still very good with plenty to enjoy, and its best components are absolutely great even. Not everything works, but the great premise is handled very well indeed and it certainly left me entertained and nostalgic (expected from this kind of premise).

A perfect episode "Toons Take Over" isn't. Cooper De Ville even for the type of character he is meant to be was excessively over the top to the point of being irritating with no redeeming traits.

Did think too that it could have had more energy and been more inventive. Everything is executed very well inded, it just overall could have done with more spark which is where my rating falls down.

However, so much is great about "Toons Take Over". The animation is bright and colourful and has some lively character animation. The wild expressions are great too. The music is dynamic and characterful as always and the theme song has always brought a smile to my face. Something that was the case when a child and still is now. Much of the humour is sharp and has a nice wacky wit, helped by that the premise is one that suits that style of humour and the show's tone like a glove.

Loved the references, which were as a young adult easier to spot than as a child (the references still worked as a child as they were still timed beautifully and very funny) and they were done in a way that was witty and affectionate. And thankfully not random or shoehorned in. The story is not the most original one on the block and on the slight side, but the irresistibly vibrant energy and great character chemistry lifted it significantly. Buster, Babs and Plucky are typically well characterised and the voice acting is terrific from all.

    In conclusion, very good. 8/10.
