My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas (2005)

The animation looks particularly shoddy, but he film's greatest crime is the annoying, generic, craptastic protagonist. Why do kids shows usually have some annoying prat of a character we are supposed to care about? Minty is one of those people that can't leave anything alone. She's always touching stuff and pissing about, only to act surprised when she breaks something. After this, she then acts like some victim. Her great idea is to commit greater felonies, such as breaking in to the homes of her friends. At least the title song is a catchy little ditty, but past that it's annoying kiddy crap. Only show this to particularly dumb kids.

    Great Kid's Film!!!!!

Okay, I assume that guy who likes ponies told my Friend from the Island, other people, and myself to vote this a ten, so I'll do it!!!!!

"My Little Pony: Very Minty Christmas" is downright one of the greatest Christmas specials of all time!!!!! Not only is it very colorful, but extremely kid-friendly and nothing bad to find or switch off of in it!!!!! Nothing but pure holiday joy from start to finish. It ranks right up there with "Frosty" and "Charlie Brown" as well as they cheesy specials like "Santa with Muscles," "Star Wars Holiday Special," and "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians!!!!!" (Just kidding about the last three. LOL)

I invite you and your family into My Little Pony's stable to sit by the fire and watch "A Very Minty Christmas!!!!!" You'll laugh and smile!!!!!

Cute if not among one of the best of My Little Pony

My Little Pony I am not a huge fan of, but I do actually kind of like it as it was part of my childhood. A Very Minty Christmas is decent and very cute, but not as good or as interesting(it was cute and had morals, but there was also conflict) as the older My Little Pony episodes. It does have a tendency to be too on the sickly sweet side, with some cheesy, cloying dialogue and some slightly rough character designs and Minty is one of those characters you may warm to once you get to know her, I personally did find her annoying to start with. I will also be honest that while I liked the movie I found Princess Promenade for example to be far superior. However, I did like the vibrant colours and ethereal backgrounds, the score is whimsical and the title song is catchy. The story is cute and well-meaning, the characters are engaging once you get used to Minty and the voice work while not amazing is good, the people involved are talented individuals and do well. All in all, cute and decent enough but not My Little Pony at its best. 7/10 Bethany Cox

Very cute, well animated, and awesome voices & colors

This movie was very cute and good quality. The animation was fantastic. The storyline was pretty darn good and the voices were spot on. I am eager to see rereleases of this, as well as more G3 stuff, like Dancing in the Clouds and way more of the toys. Hasbro should really recycle all of the old G3 things they have crowding their storage rooms. Anyway, I love Minty and think she has a good personality. She is like me (likes to hoard and is clumsy). G3 lovers (such as myself) would most likely enjoy this and collect Minty merchandise. I think this movie is wonderful for all ages. Though it wasn't a real a Christmas Classic, everyone would love the bright colors and huggable characters.

This is outright the best movie I've seen!

I don't know how to begin describing this movie. It is by far the best movie I've ever seen in my life! The music was just perfect and original and the artwork was indescribable! I nearly cried watching this movie because it was simply stunning! I wasn't even an MLP fan when I first saw this movie, but I became a fan in literally five minutes! I don't care who the viewing audience is, you've gotta watch this movie! It reflects life in a whole new perspective and made me realize that we need more like this in today's cruel world. I'm a scientist and I personally can imagine anything, even the craziest stuff, but I truly cannot imagine anyone, and I mean ANYONE, hating this movie. I know you will love it, fan or not; it's that simple. The amount of cuteness in this movie was so incredible, I don't think I blinked once the whole time I saw this movie. It also gives you a warm feeling of comfort that absolutely nothing else could possibly muster. I recommend all three movies and soon, the fourth movie will be out February 2007! I will not reveal anything more. I will just say, please in all that is necessary, please buy these movies because I know you will love them.

    • Trivia
In this generation, the Equestrian equivalent of Christmas is actually called Christmas. it would later be called "Hearth's Warming Day" in G4 and "Winter Wishintine's Day" in G5. the words "Christmas" and "Santa" would not be used again in the franchise until the G4 Christmas album "A Pony Kind Of Christmas".
    • Goofs
In the opening scene with "That's What I Love About Christmas", two ponies (a purple and orange one) are holding candy canes in their mouths. Albeit in the next shot where they're looking at a Christmas store when the song brings up Santa, the candy canes have vanished.
