    Hey Bones Booth Pod!

It was a good episode. Bones rant about everything that Carlie Richardson is clearly not mentioned in was hilarious. So Bones can't drive because she's irritated but your not Booth after that phone call from Rebecca? Ugh the child bones how sad. I do understand where Bones is coming from about marriage with her logical anthropological argument but love is really logical. Hahaha I love Hodgins little explorer hat it really does make the "geek chic" outfit. I don't really blame Rebecca for keeping the men in her life a secret this clearly isn't the first time Booth has sent agents to investigate. Angela and her Angelator are worlds better than a drunk sketch artist. Not happy Richardson had no consequences for the serial abusing and dog killing. I feel Carlied parents should have gotten custody.

    Cleverly Plotted

Let's start with the fact that this whole string of developments is impossible. The skill set of the squints is also pretty much beyond belief. That said, that's what makes the show. Can you imagine having a TV drama where things are realistic. We'd be snoozing five minutes into every episode. It's a "what if." In this one, a man has been convicted by the public and persecuted from that point on. He is a bonafide jerk and a womanizer, but that is not murder. I thought the writers did a nice job of making this a fun, twisty portrayal of a weird murder case. We get more conflicts with Booth's religious beliefs clashing with Brennan's. We also have booth over the top with jealousy. We don't know at this point what broke up the marriage, but he does need to learn at some point.

    Grue aplenty

Bones deals with the remains of a woman whose body is found in the bay, along with the remains of an infant that turns out not to be hers. Booth goes in search of the husband, who has vanished. Things get even more complicated when it is discovered the woman did not die in salt water. And Bones clashes with Cam yet again. The plot line is based on the Lacey Peterson case. The killer is revealed a tad early, unfortunately. But this gives Bones an opportunity later to ponder the mysteries of motherhood. She has a great line when a group of moms try to explain to Booth the bonding that takes place between a mother and her child,.

    Surprising depth AND breadth

This episode touches on so much more than most. Yes it deals with the conflict and attempts to understand each other between the characters, as usual, but it also deals with motherhood from multiple perspectives, including unwanted pregnancies, postpartum depression, and reluctance of some women to become mothers due to childhood trauma (disguised, as it frequently is, by concerns about "the state of the world").

It also shows how when police have a viable suspect that they believe they can convict, they want to stop looking. There's the strong and potentially justified tendency to think that looking for alternatives when you have enough evidence for the jury is just helping the defense get a suspect off in court later.

It also deals with various perspectives on fatherhood, from Booth's desire to be more of a father to his son while the mother wants to have her own life without Booth, to another father's fears since he is a self-confessed bad man.

That's a lot of issues to cover in under an hour while still giving us a very entertaining mystery. One of their best.

    Terrible ... hypocritical.

She says in one moment that she doesn't understand anything about being a parent and then harps continuously about being a parent. No way is Booth, the great FBI father who loves his kid so much ... apparently doesn't share in joint custody of his son. More attacks on religion by a sanctimonious character who acts one moment all callous and cold, but then is qualified to offer psychological advice and criticism. I can deal with the outrageous sciences they use, I can even make allowances that they can determine the location of ALL soil samples in order to identify a murder scene BUT the hypocritical and ridiculous nature of the leading character is vastly disappointing.
