The central story was good. Tom Case and his son Tom Case Junior runa small fishing boat and it is hard to make ends meet. They blame EU regulations,

After the ship exploded at sea, both are rescued. Tom Case comes to Peter Kingdom as the insurers will not pay out.

It emerges that Tom Case was once sent down for insurance fraud. Lyle thinks the case is a waste of time, Tom sabotaged his own boat.

Peter maintains that he is a good judge of character and Tom Case is genuine, the insurers are in the wrong.

It was more interesting than sister Beatrice becoming a nude model for an artist and falls in love with him. Of course it could never last as the artist is a lothario. Whereas Sidney Snell has to deal with a campaign of harassment from his local council. Both stories quickly become tiresome.

Interestingly now we are out of the EU, the fishermen are still complaining about their livelihood. It seems life was better in the EU. Now where did I put my world's smallest violin!
