I was also wondering what happened to Cox's hair, but if you notice - his hair is all grown back in the next episode, so they probably created this clip show before the season in planning for the fact they would be busy with the birth.
I think season 6 hasn't been as well received as the other seasons, but I think they've done it very well - they're all moving forward and the show itself is maturing and the story arcs are getting good!
Scrubs Rules!
Vess
No plot, nothing; most clip shows at least try to tie the clips into the plot by some tenuous stretch, but this didn't even do that. Clips, three lines to lead into the next interminable sequence of dull clips... OK, so perhaps they were short on production time, but they'd have been better off skipping this episode entirely. What a waste of time.
I'm not sure how this got made, in fact. Scrubs is usually much better at subverting tropes, but somehow this got through....
Thank heavens they were back on form by the next episode.
I found it really unfortunate that I was wrong. One season later, they succumbed to that which almost all sitcoms inevitably do, the clip show...and it looked like it was put together by the work-experience kid. Dr Cox's shaved head shows just how lazy the editors were in putting it together, as it doesn't appear again until 'My Long Goodbye' some 4 episodes later. I can't imagine that a wig is too much effort when it comes to maintaining the continuity of what was once a well-constructed sitcom. Who knows why it was slotted there, it just seemed lazy and out of place, reminding me (largely) of episodes that have aired within the past year.
Three second clips jammed together with background music is a DVD extra for a (very) rainy day, not an episode of prime-time television.
However, let's think about this shall we.
Clip shows are put together because the creators do not have the time to write a brand new episode. There are a few negative reviews on here from so called "fans" getting on their high horse and ranting that they are disappointed that Scubs has gone down this road of "laziness"... they've sold out... become like all the other inferior shows... The Simpson's did it first... blah blah blah...
Do those same fans think an episode as brilliantly original as My Musical is put together in the same time period as a regular episode...? My guess is that the regular weekly filming schedule had to be preceded by a week of rehearsal with the choreographers... hence the need to put something together quickly to fill the gap...
I'll put up with the downside of a clips show if the upside is a My Musical...
The only way to make a clip show that isn't utter trash is to use the same cinematic style, but with all new clips. That's it. Stop trying. Doesn't work. No.

- TriviaChronologically in between episodes "My Words of Wisdom" and "Their Story". In this episode, Dr. Cox has a shaved head. In the following episode "My Fishbowl" he has curly hair again, as the episodes were shown out of order. He doesn't shave his head until 4 episodes later "My Long Goodbye," after commenting that nobody liked his curly haircut.
- GoofsIn this episode Dr. Cox's head is shaved, even though it isn't in the previous episode or the following episode and he doesn't actually shave his until later in the season as a direct result of a major story development.
- Quotes
Dr. Perry Cox: All right now, children. I know your shifts are over and you're all excited about going home, but first we're going to play a little game called "Answer The Question Correctly Or Stay Here Forever". Debbie... what are the neoplastic causes of hyperprolactinemia?
Debbie: Uh... ectopic tumor production secondary to renal carcinoma?
Dr. Perry Cox: Close, but no ciggie. You'll be staying here forever. Did you think that was a little too mean?
Intern #1: No...?
Dr. Perry Cox: Wrong. It damn sure was. You're staying here forever. And Kenyan intern, can you answer me this? It is even possible to give the right answer in this game?
Kenyan Intern: No.
Dr. Perry Cox: Correct.
Kenyan Intern: [whispering] Yes!
Dr. Perry Cox: Unfortunately, you're still staying here forever. My game... my rules. Come.
