Little Man, What Next? Part 1

In previous episodes Abwehr Sergeant Gratz has been the master of interrogation and manipulation. Leaving his victims in a tizzy, maybe the man is a bit mad.

Whereas Lutzig of the SS is a believer of the Iron fist rather than the velvet glove.

With Gratz's arrest, Lutzig has a chance to interrogate him. Only it turns out to be both physical and psychological. Gratz might be afraid of torture but relishes the mind games with Lutzig.

There is a dizzying madness to the episode. It might not always make sense apart from Lutzig has challenged himself. That he could break Lutzig without violence. He wants the name of the collaborators that Gratz has.

It is Lutzig's insane boss Zander who goes over Lutzig's head and has Gratz tortured.

The most intense scenes are between Gratz and his estranged Jew hating wife. Despite the nastiness, she feels guilt when Gratz is taken away to be tortured.
