If you have seen the promotional poster for this movie, then you might think that this has something to do with the highly successful "Alien" franchise or maybe the sequel to "Alien vs Predator". Unfortunately, it's neither. After the first 10 minutes, I was hoping it might be a spoof or parody of the "Alien" movies. Sadly it's not that either. Although it is rather unintentionally funny.
The story revolves around two spaceships that crash land on Earth. One contains a menacing alien and the other an alien hunter that is hunting the alien. Both spaceships land in the vicinity of a small country town where Marty (William Katt), a local newspaper reporter - and wannabe Pulitzer Prize writer - resides. After witnessing an alien attack firsthand, Marty tries to inform the townsfolk of what he saw and they all go to investigate further but eventually find themselves caught up in the hunt. I won't comment any further on the plot line, but if you have seen any of the "Alien" or "Predator" movies, then you can probably guess the rest.
The alien looks a little similar to those seen in the "Alien" movies, but the it has a body of a spider. Due to the rather lackluster special effects in this movie, the alien doesn't look anywhere near as menacing as those seen in the "Alien" movies. The alien hunter looks like a cross between the "Iron Giant" and the robot from "Lost in Space" (the old 60s TV show). And I am making it sound a lot better than what it really is.
This is a strictly straight-to-video movie that will probably get more attention for its cover poster than anything else. It was sad to see William Katt in this movie. I used to like him in the 80s TV show "The Greatest American Hero" and even the "House" horror films, but he really seems miscast in this dud. All the actors are terribly bad probably due to a dire script. There is also some terrible editing, but I have a feeling this was done to hide the atrocious special effects and poor action scenes.
I would categorize this movie in the same class as "Scorpius Gigantus" (2006), "Species III: Set Invasion" (2004) and "Starship Troopers 2: Hero Of The Federation" (2004). All straight-to-video duds with lame special effects, poor editing and terrible acting. Don't waste your time...

what can I say, this movie rules it brings out a humanity and makes you care about these people I'd recommend this to everyone! this makes godfather look like a stain. I think it says a lot about the film industry it says you don't need anything to make a movie put in some actors a vague idea of a script and you have art, it's abstract film! if you don't believe me see it yourself because in this world, this is a masterpiece of 07 cinema a triumph of style! this may very well be the best film ever. name one problem with this film i'll argue well. so in general if you don't watch this movie you'll miss out on a lot. it's like taking gold and making it more shiny, it's utter perfection.
just joking, avoid this piece of crap at all costs! now here is why: bad plot, bad acting bad, everything else so, in general this IS the worst of the worst

Wow! This movie was incompetent in every way, and managed to be worse than the terrible Alien vs. Predator.
The back cover of this movie claims to have special effects from the people who did Fantastic Four. They are awful special effects. The only special effects are the alien's spider legs which are sometimes shown, or the camera focuses on the costume character top half of the alien. The hunter looks like a robot with a Chinese hat, and seems to be a cheap looking clone of the predator. The acting is really bad, and the characters are all stereotypes of typical characters, like the aging hero, the woman who secretly likes him, the military gun freak and many more. Any scene that's supposed to be dramatic has a blue colored lens to make it seem scary (I guess), or a reddish colored lens, and it looks stupid. This is a terrible rip-off of a bad movie.
My rating: BOMB/****. 90 mins. Not rated, contains violence and language.

1) Steal the storyline of an upcoming American film. Something big-blockbuster. Make sure you change the title just enough to avoid those pesky copyright infringement lawsuits.
2) Get an actor who is washed up so you can put his name on the DVD cover. Keep William Katt and Bruce Boxleitner on speed dial.
3) Use special effects of YouTube quality. Lots of hungry waifs wanting to show off their stuff.
4) Film you movie in some small town and reuse the same sets over and over again.
5) Pad the movie with pointless action scenes.
6) Have a good time.
Okay, this wasn't a bad film for the Asylum, but it's pretty crappy overall. Of course, since the Alien v. Predator movies sucked pretty bad, it wasn't like they were painting a beard on the Mona Lisa.

This film is total crap. I walked out after watching half an hour. I thought I was going to watch something like AvP. But this is nothing. The hunter looks like the black power ranger with a weird hat wielding a giant gun and the alien looks like a giant spider with claws. The characters are so stupid too.A giant spider alien is chasing them and they sit around and have a town meeting about what to do. Then they go into the pipes somehow and the pipes are so big that they could stand up and walk around freely. I could go on all day about how bad this is but there will be no point. Take my advice and don't ever think about this again.
