    Torchwood becomes more consistent

Reset uses Torchwood's 15 rating very well. Previously, Torchwood was unnecessarily violent or over sexual, whereas this time, the violence and gore feels appropriate. This is a pretty good episode, the plot is interesting, and feels quite grounded. The inclusion of Marth was also good to see.

Torchwood Lives Up to Its Potential

So far, I have been very impressed with Torchwood's new season, but this one has made me a fan of the show forever.

Initially, Torchwood was a show that let me indulge my John Barrowman fan girl fantasies. During the second season, I started watching it more for what it is. But this one nearly made me pee in my pants with suspense.

The plot was smart and blood-thumping, the dialogue good with some appropriate touches of humour. I can finally say that Torchwood has become the show that it should always have been.

Lets hope that the Torchwood writers keep up this intensity and energy.

    Complex, imaginative and shocking.

Martha is called in to carry out a post mortem on a body, one in a series of bizarre deaths, where the only link is a pharma facility called The Pharm.

Quality science fiction, this is a very intense and intelligent episode, it's so different from the episodes from the first series, more intense somehow.

There's a bit shock at the end of this one, something that would change the show, a tactic that would be used again. Poor Toshiko.

I was always curious to see how Martha would fit into Torchwood, such a wholesome companion, so pure a character, somehow it would have been like slotting Donna Noble in, a character so far away from the seedy, sexed up underworld of Torchwood.

Wonderful to see Alan Dale, if you're about my age, you'd have adored watching him in Neighbours (when it was pretty cool back in the day that is.)

This one holds up incredibly well.

    8/10.

A pivotal episode of the second series

"Reset" continues the second season's run of solid stories. Introducing the delectable Martha Jones to the proceedings, this gripping episode is one of the strongest so far.

Alan Dale appears as the baddie of the week, the calculating Copley. Dale's come a long way from "Neighbours" and it's always great to see him on the small (and large) screen.

Without a doubt, one of the more memorable episodes, "Reset" will have fans discussing its content for some time to come.

Without hesitation, I give this tale 8 out of 10. The effects are pleasing, the pace is spot on and there are a few unexpected twists to boot.

    • Quotes

Martha Jones: So, Jack asked me if I could get you a UNIT cap to wear.

Ianto Jones: Did he? Well, red is my color.

Martha Jones: So, am I right in thinking that you and he...

      Ianto Jones: We... dabble.

      Martha Jones: Yeah?

      Ianto Jones: Yeah.

Martha Jones: So what's his "dabbling" like?

      Ianto Jones: Innovative.

      Martha Jones: Really!

Ianto Jones: Bordering on the avant-garde.

      Martha Jones: Wow.

      Ianto Jones: Oh yeah.

      [Ianto smiles a little distantly]
