Akshay Kumar, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Satyadev Kancharana in Ram Setu (2022)

Review by chand-suhas

Ram Setu

2/10

Strictly for those who want to believe mythology as history.

The mystery behind Ram Setu has been an intriguing theory for years. It is even almost fun to read about it or skim through random videos on youtube. Now here's a Bollywood venture that has unveiling the mystery behind Ram Setu as it's core plot. An archeologist, who is also an atheist is assigned to carry out this study by providing him everything he needs. When the technology isn't enough then the writers even get him an A. P. for his aid.

Poor vfx aside, the screenplay itself is so bland that the scenes automatically feel tedious when they aren't trying to be unintentionally hilarious. The setting however was perfect, to make an atheist to unravel the truth while turning him into a believer. But the execution felt far too amateurish to pull this off. And then came that court scene which was an ultimate facepalm. Even if one had to prove mythology as history, there were better and interesting ways to do it, sadly this is not that kind of attempt.
