When the director creates a science fiction movie for children but it is open for all due to historical religious attachments

The movie aims to make audience serious but practically it all results into comedy and foolish science fiction with baseless dimension. One of the most FALTU and PAKAU movie we have witnessed in the history of bollywood. Mohinjadaro was better compared to this foolish storyline. All things starting from music to direction and from acting to funny science fiction badly disappoints. Akshay Kumar also fails to impress and jackline Fernandez is merely a entity which provides audience with some freshness through visuals. Overuse of CGI , may be the director considered Indian audience as fools. Don't go in theatres and waste your hard earned money on this baseless movie. Bollywood continues the tradition to disappoint.

Spoiler free review

Although the movie's mistakes were huge in professional terms but the script written by the writers was hats off. The script was made in such a way that people from both sides of beliefs were not hurt at all. I personally don't think the Adam's Bridge is whole Ram Setu or it is a small part of Ram Setu if Valmiki's calculations were correct or correctly interpreted. The film was very serious on it's topic & it didn't deviated it from it's purpose. I liked watching this movie & gave me nostalgia to Oh My God! (OMG). And the fighting scenes were not liked so-called movie scenes which are impossible or rarely possible to be done in real life.

AK40 does it again

In his mad lust to complete shooting in less than 40 days, AK40 AKA Akshay Kumar ruined a great story in almost the same manner he ruined Prithviraj. AK40 is just trying to make money by manipulating Hindu sentiments. He must have thought that his movie will also float like stones just because it has Ram written on it. Hindus don't need ridiculous movies like this. Horrible acting, poor direction, bad music and a very loose childish script. The flow of the movie sucks. As usual, a great opportunity not just lost by urduwood but ruined for others as well. And the usual sickular monkey balancing which looks really ugly when forced into the story out of context or requirement of the plot.

A Pleasant Watch - Ram Setu - itsbymayank

Underwater Scene is just wow.

Storyline is all about RamSetu, Efforts on the movie while making it can be easily seen in the movie.

Fast pace movie, not a single song in it.

The Story keeps you engaged till the end and the climax gives smile.

The Visuals are Good, people who are saying bad or worst things about movie are not actually wanted to watch the movie or wanted only to say bad things.

I'll say not best or Great movie but those who don't know about the facts but this incident actually happened in 2007.

Whole movie question about Ram Setu and Shree Ram Existence and revealed many small things or interesting facts about the Ram Setu or Shree Ram.

Akshay is pleasant to watch, Satyadev brings smile when he comes on Screen.

One time watch and Good Try Makers.

Concept is great but lacks performance.

Today I watch this movie due to its interesting title but after sometime movie start lacking as usual VFX, direction and screenplay. I don't know why Bollywood not try to use good VFX companies for their movies. They don't want to learn from past experiences. Story is good but poor performances by actors. It is just waste of time and money for me to go and watch it in theaters. If they try to provide better screenplay and directions then it will be a good movie. When you try to make such a big title movie you should have to give time in creating and making a movie. But when you follow ASAP policy in making movies then it lacks everything as always Bollywood does. Poor.

Good Story Line

The story line in the film was good and it developed as the story progresses. The character introductions in the film was really good to watch. Akshay sir did a great job as an archaeologist in the film.

The VFX was good. The background soundtrack was impressive. There was a suspense at the end and it was impressive to watch. The story suddenly changed in the second half and the way it progressed was good. The court scene and the dialogues were written great and Akshay sir was impressive in the court scene.

The movie overall was good and Akshay sir given one of the great performances with different role.

Worth watching Once for the reveal in the Last Scene

The Last scene of this movie gave me goosebumps and i shed a few tears. The last time i cried watching a movie maybe the only time too, years ago watching Hachico A Dogs's story.

For a small budget film, the vfx was decent overall, at some places its bad, and most places surprisingly good.

Acting of everyone was quite bad, except Satyadev Kancharana who plays A. P.

A Main reason this movie is watchable in the 2nd half is due to A. P. The 1st half was quite engageing, because we explore Ram Setu.

The climax court case needed to be more hard hitting.

This film is a 7.1/10 for me but i am emotionally way too swayed right now, I again say this movie is definitely a 1 time watch just for the reveal in the very last scene of the movie.

Jai Shree Ram Jai Hanuman.

Bunch of trash stitched together from Whatsapp messages and Facebook posts

The list of issues with the movie are way too long. But I'll try to restrict myself to the major ones.

First and foremost the plot of the film does no justice whatsoever to a topic that has the potential of churning out a blockbuster. The entire film revolves around a case in the Supereme Court that seeks permission to dredge a portion of the Ram Setu to create a new international shipping route that would make it easier for merchant ships to navigate the stretch of Indian ocean that lies between India and Sri Lanka.

The protagonist portrayed by Akshay Kumar and his sidekick team of researchers always manage to pull out anecdotal evidences without any solid research or fact finding.

Its almost as if the film desperately tries to play on the religious sentiments of its viewers to keep them interested but unfortunately the shoddy VFX and poorly shot action sequences overwhelm those efforts too.

Surprisingly good

I went with zero expectations, but it was a good movie. Especially towards the end. Acting was okayish. Akki looks too old. Nushrat - The only time she looks young is when she stands next to akki. Jacqline - we all know how talented an actress she is. Lol. But, its a good story, keeps you on the edge of your seats. If this movie would have released 3 years ago, it would be a blockbuster. But, audiences have changed completely now. They want free entertainment on ott. Nothing wrong with that. Not much to criticize about the movie. Its a one time watch. I do like the background music. Overall nice movie.

Serious actors would have done justice with plot and could have made it a classic!

The plot is amazing. Story could have been more clear, many scenes were left vaguely.

The metaphors used are something I have not seen in Bollywood movies earlier which makes it interesting (something that was fascinating in parasites). The villain's company name is pushpak shipping, ravana's airplane. Akshay Kumar's sea suit is named makar, sea crocodile; the guide is AP anjani putra, his boat's name is cheeranjeevi that's immortal which Hanuman is said to be.

The cast should have been different one, this topic and the way it is presented deserves lot more serious actors, it was easy impact plot, but these actors were not able to do that. You will not be connected to any character throughout the movie. This had potential to be a classic movie that stays with masses but nothing like that happens. The only character that is having some depth is Akshay Kumar's but that also doesn't takes you on a journey. You never connect emotionally with the character's feelings. Ranveer Singh or Hrithik Roshan would have been much better choices to connect with audience. Satyadev was the best character and actor in the movie.

Definitely worth a watch. It will just leave a nice movie feeling nothing larger than life.

Nothing Else than Disappointing

It's such a waste, Seriously the plot of the movie is just way off comparing to the title of the movie. Bad storyline followed by bad direction & worst VFX will summarise the 2hrs wasted in the theatre. The plot of the movie could have been 100 times better than what we're actually seeing on the big screen, sheer waste of such an historical topic which could have been a masterpiece. Below average & made up acting & writing is something which is very disappointing again a disaster from Akshay is on the cards. Background music is good but sadly it's does not toned with the bad VFX which will irritate the audience throughout the entire duration of the movie. Disappointing is only a word this movie of Akshay can be defined in. 👎

Poor Script Writing

Story is not written in good manner.. because it's neither look like science fiction nor historical view.. it's script look like cut paste from text message from WhatsApp.

Some places in movie its feeling like political narrative are saying by actors.. The many facts are playing as in manipulating way thats make confusion in person who had strong belief in religious books or stories. What's actual research and what's actual finding its not know many of the people because of their low literacy and this is topic of belief also so that it's easy to affect people in particular way..

What is the conclusion it's not clear.. ??

Acting is good but dressing sense is not good..

Music is good.

Not as bad as one may think

Before watching it, I certainly had a notion that the movie might deliberately try to force its way into a religious sentiment. However, I feel, this is a good start. The dialogues are good enough and direction is also ok. Donot have very high expectations, however you also don't need to be highly critical of the movie also. It's a one time watch, for someone who loves historical mystery stories clubbed with indiana jones style. VFX is not good. They have relied too much of VFX which seems too childish. Overall nothing much to complain about.

Be very assured that this is NOT a movie that glorifies a particular religion heavily.

A potential script submerged in ocean

Pathetic direction, scriptwriting and acting. The director seems to have put the burden of science on the audience. Common sense is rare and so has been aptly proved by the director. Acting is a notch higher and beats the poor direction hands down.

The mindless music can get you zoned/ stoned out What bothers most is that they've handled a subject so close to common mass and yet they walk away .. they should tried for producing such a cheap stuff.

Some subjects are not for only money making. Akshay Kumar do you even watch your own movies after you're done making them...??? Although, I seriously doubt..

One time watchable for rama's scientific view

Movie is based on ram setu controversy, whether it should be there or not , And it's little adventures too , and surely adventure part is the best part of the movie

Positives 1 Askhay kumar archeological character is best in some places , and his dialogue are reasonable.

2 it is said fiction, but most part resemble reality 3 sathya dev character is nice 4 Music most of 1st half is not good , but 2nd half it becomes good .

Negatives 1 All others characters are just there , no intensity in screen 2 VFX after some 20 min , it becomes good , again it becomes cartoon , and literally shows the blue screen, it can be made good .

Yaar , I am a movie buff , this concept is fresh and it's gives good feels like karthikeya 2 , so for me it's always a good watch.

Atheist se Bhakt tak!!

Ram Setu review :

He is an archeologist, a scientist and an atheist. By the end of the film, he also turns a lawyer and a bhakt!!

I mean Shri Ram Bhakt!

That's pretty much the graph of Akshay Kumar's character - a desi Indiana Jones if you may wanna call him - who is sucked in to a timebound expedition out to prove that the Ram Setu (or Adams bridge) connecting India to Lanka was man made. And more importantly, Lord Ram is NOT a mythology but our glorious history.

Drawing real life influence from the mid '2000s case where the previous UPA Government had filed an affidavit in court challenging the very existence of Lord Ram, the film seamlessly weaves in a thrilling adventure in to the proceedings to provide a wholesome Diwali entertainer for the entire family. Particularly, the underwater sequences will appeal big time to kids...

Unlike Samrat Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar is in form this time and he steers the movie effortlessly through its twists and turns right up to the courtroom climax. Nushrat Bharuccha looks too young to be his wife though!! The real surprise package turns out to be Satya Dev as AP, a tourist guide volunteering to help Kumar and co. For a couple of bucks.

On the flipside, the VFX are underwhelming, the film loses grip a couple of times in the second hour and Jacqueline looks more a model than a scientist. But all of these flaws get drowned in the ocean once the climactic revelation happens...Ram Setu just soars in the end and the final "divine" twist tugs your heartstrings to clap aloud in appreciation. Make it your family outing!!

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

What a waste of such powerful story.

Full of overacting and the VFX is as awful as the acting.

Definitely everything was done in hurry so they couldn't even review it.

Worst one so far, Definitely wasted 2 hours just watching such poor animation work as well as making a joke out of storyline.

I still can't believe some of them are consideredas actor(Jacqueline Fernández, nushrratt bharuccha, pravesh Rana and the list is long)

Somehow indian cinema is trying to compete with international cinema but Bollywood is definitely becoming a joke day by day.

Heads up to South Cinema atleast they are master of their art and what a shame Bollywood can copy everything from them otherthn perfection.

What a joke.

VISUALLY APPEALING

One of the best film of 2022. This film reminds us of Karthikeya 2. And gives more or less same vibes. Here actors shines more

Akshay Kumar shines with his role and with his underwater suit there's some exciting scenes. Overall an impactful story with full of action sequences which will be liked by all masses.

Jacqueline Fernandez, Tollywood-Kollywood actor Satyadev, Nusratt, Naseer, Jennifer Piccinato all performed well. Music is average. Jai Shri Ram bgm is outstanding

Makers will be hoping that Film should not go unnoticed like Rakshabandan which was another masterpiece released this year.

One Time Watch

Is Akshay Kumar back with another underwhelming film? After delivering the disappointing action comedy Bachchhan Paandey, a historical action drama Samrat Prithviraj, a family drama Raksha Bandhan, and a crime thriller Cuttputlli, he is back with his latest offering, an adventure action film Ram Setu, but this time he will not disappoint his fans completely. The makers have chosen a fascinating subject that hasn't been explored in any Indian film.

Abhishek Sharma's story was promising and has all the ingredients like adventure, mystery, science, action, and courtroom drama. The dialogues, direction & editing were good, and the background score goes well with the film. But there was more scope for better & engrossing writing here. The concept may have sounded more exciting on paper but the execution is mediocre. Also the below-par VFX is the biggest drawback of the film which has hugely affected the overall impact of the film.

The film starts on a good note and the first half of the film has little cinematic appeal too. But the screenplay can hold the audience in bits & pieces. The film tried to revive itself in the second half and picks up pace. It does become engaging and the surprise in the climax will be loved by most of the viewers.

Akshay Kumar has delivered a notable performance. Jacqueline Fernande was decent in her role but Nushrratt Bharuccha has nothing to offer here. Satya Dev got a well-written role and he has done complete justice to his role in his Bollywood debut. Nassar, Pravesh Rana. Jeniffer Piccinato, and other supporting were just fine in their roles.

Direction 3/5 Acting 3/5 Dialogues 3/5 Story 3.5/5 Screenplay 2.5/5.

This looks like a money laundering scheme

Acting: extremely sub-par Cinematography: looked like this is their first gig at using a camera to film CGI: piss poor given the tech available and money involved. Woefully unnecessary at times Social commentary: really bad at doing the one thing i thought this movie was attempting to do.

Akshay kumar should really stick to movies where he can be goofy. The actress playing Gabrielle had a presence equivalent to bone bits in a biryani.

If you are going to make a movie maybe learn how to construct one instead of throwing things together and hoping it'll stick.

The characters lacked life and the camera unfortunately highlighted that aspect even more with its rather amateur and awkward everything. It hovered too long on things that didn't require attention in the first place or failed to portray the gravity of any of the plethora of situations the films bombards you with.

Wire-work was also terrible and unnecessary. You'd think Indian cinema has come a long way make believable human movement.

Maybe, just maybe the next time you cast Akshay Kumar, make sure he is not the glue that sticks the movie together because he doesn't. His character lacks basic human traits and does such a bad job in crisis mode. I stress this point more because the movie wants you to believe he is Crisis Man and can un-crisis you from any and all crisis.

These are just a few points I thought were worth mentioning because talking about all of them would be an unnecessary waste of my time. And these were from the first half of the movie at that.

Whatsapp University

Akshay kumar seems to be unintrested in the movies. He is not showing any acting skills and making garbage movies. He is making the most out of his popularity to make money. The movie has no concrete story line, only the idea. This does not deserved to be compared with indiana jones. This moviea is inspired by whatsapp forward. Nothing makes sense in this movie. I dont understand the need to bring in villains and guns.

Akshay kumar has continued making garbage movies. He is always making movies to exploit the peoples sentiments be it nationalist or religious.

I am surely not buying the ticker for the next akshay movie.

Strictly for those who want to believe mythology as history.

The mystery behind Ram Setu has been an intriguing theory for years. It is even almost fun to read about it or skim through random videos on youtube. Now here's a Bollywood venture that has unveiling the mystery behind Ram Setu as it's core plot. An archeologist, who is also an atheist is assigned to carry out this study by providing him everything he needs. When the technology isn't enough then the writers even get him an A. P. for his aid.

Poor vfx aside, the screenplay itself is so bland that the scenes automatically feel tedious when they aren't trying to be unintentionally hilarious. The setting however was perfect, to make an atheist to unravel the truth while turning him into a believer. But the execution felt far too amateurish to pull this off. And then came that court scene which was an ultimate facepalm. Even if one had to prove mythology as history, there were better and interesting ways to do it, sadly this is not that kind of attempt.
