Having been dazzled by Season 1/2, 3 was OK. But this opener was pretty poor. Was there any funny stuff? I used to have a good old chortle watching this show.
It must be in the water as pretty much most shows I'm watching have had poor seasons, must be a post COVID hangover. The one exception by far is Ozark.
I'll see this season out and hope it gets better.

I am not impressed with the first episode(s) of the final season. Some ideas are worth exploring back in season 3, but I don't think they are appropriate for the final season. As of this writing I have watched till episode five, out of eight. It does get better, gradually, but I am worried they couldn't build up to a good finale.

What is billed as the final series. It starts of with some role reversal. Eve is bad ass as she hunts down the Twelve.
Eve even shoots Konstantin in the hand. He is running for mayor in Russia.
Meanwhile Villanelle tries to be good. She has found religion and is looking forward to be baptised.
Of course Villanelle might also be preparing form her next hit. It also does not take long for Eve's incompetence to show.
The woman from the funeral parlour manages to get the best of Eve.
Meanwhile Carolyn is a cultural attache in Spain. The equivalent of being sent to Siberia.
It is the beginning of some new cat and mouse games. The Twelve look like a deadly foe.
There is a shift in the Villanelle and Eve relationship which is the crux of the story. Maybe tat will shift again as the series goes on.

Although it misses the punch of a typical season opener, the episode does set up some interesting perspectives. It establishes what might be the apparent character flip of Eve and Villanelle. Or does it? Maybe it's too obvious.
A few new characters add some dynamic, but they are yet to show themselves as having conflict, which was one of the exciting characteristics of season one, the opposing views of Eve and her husband. Eve's new counterpart is clearly the opposite, so seeing where that dynamic goes will be interesting.
A slightly subdued start to the final season but with some satisfying setups.

Let's be honest here, killing eve sank after series one. Two was ok, but nowhere as good as one. Just watched ep.1 of series four, they need to put us all out of our misery. Who is writing this ?

This was an incredible show that season 4 episode 1 parked in an avant-garde ditch. We had all waited seemingly forever for the final season only to be rewarded with this absurd episode. Like a drunk driver recklessly driving a great car into a ditch, this episode leaves viewers in a "what happeneded" recovery coma. Some may watch episode 2 to see if there is hope left for this show, many will not. I certainly will not but I do wish goodbye to an incredible series that died the death of a thousand writers cuts.

I loved Killing Eve but the new writers and director have literally Killed It. What a bizarre, inexplicable episode! I can only hope each episode gets better.

Incredibly dull. Barely any dialogue or action. No hooks, no emotion, no point to anything. The few lines spoken are as banal and lazy as they come. Better off rewatching the first two seasons, both of which were brilliant. Sad to see an incredible show made unwatchable by obscenely poor writing.

Watched two episodes...all the male characters are a variety of fools....it's ok... excellent production but didn't find the story line fullfilling.. bit of a cartoon of itself now which I'm sure will be exciting for some.

Thought maybe new season the show will get better, but it got worse. Didn't think that was possible! But then again look what amc did to the walking dead! They love killing good shows! Done with this show!
We used to love this show, but season 4 is shockingly bad. We only managed to watch one and a half episodes...couldn't force ourselves to watch it any longer. The writing and directing are substandard. Even the soundtracks are awful. Very disappointing.

I absolutely loved this show when I started back in 2018. And yes the first two seasons where absolutely OK for me. But now ....started with the third and with this forth I do not know at what am I looking. This is not Killing Eve, this is a joke. Please give me back my beloved show, not this caricatured copy of the original one.
I really enjoyed season 1. My appreciation for the show gradually declined with seasons 2 and 3. Still, I was looking forward to getting back into the series after such a long break.
This first episode made me realize how lucky I have been for the past two years without it.
The only reason it gets two stars from me is because the acting is excellent. That's it.
This show has always been filled with woke references, but as the writing declined, these references increased (perhaps there's a correlation there). Episode 1 of season 4 has gone all out. While there isn't much in the way of woke dialogue, the entire atmosphere of the show is drowning in it.
Then there's this: I am not a religious person. I'm not even sure which religion is being portrayed (I think Catholic) in much of this episode, but it is obviously a Christian denomination. I couldn't help thinking about what kind of outcry there would be if the events were written to take place in a Mosque, Synagogue, or any other house of religion, or their deities portrayed in a similar fashion.
Again, excellent acting. But that's just not enough to overcome terrible writing and every other aspect of the show.
They have, in my humble opinion, "jumped the shark". There will be no reviews of further episodes from me.

They managed to destroy one of my favorite series. Unnecessarily, some new characters who do not fit into the environment (Yusuf, etc.) are highlighted. After three amazing seasons of the series, this season is disastrous, I barely stayed awake while watching the first three episodes.

I have waited to watch this series having loved the previous titles. Why did I bother? What on earth is going on, what is the storyline, why am I wasting my time watching this drivel? Don't expect anything like the previous series, this is a mish mash of scenes that have no connection whatsoever. Go and watch some paint dry!
