Meh
Don't be fooled. This is just a slick coat of paint over a dying and worn out franchise. There's no depth to this tired story of breaking the prime directive, and the lesson is so cringe and feel-good that I almost expected the crew to start singing Imagine. Spock should've been pulling his hair out the whole time, but as usual the writers don't understand Vulcans or how to portray different points of view. Everyone's desperate to drop a cool or witty line. They all bumble through the mission and things happen because the writers want them to, not because it makes sense. Captains don't say engage anymore, they say hit it. Beats Picard and STD, but still a disappointment.
