Raihan Rafi is one of the most promising talented directors of our time. Earlier, he introduced himself with two movies. Going beyond the conventional trend in the history of Bengali cinema, he gave surprises in the previous two movies. However, 'Janowar' has overwhelmed everything.

I could guess a bit after watching the trailer, but after watching the movie I can't get it out of my head now. There was violence but the tension did more than that. Each character is brought to life. You will be forced to hate some characters.

Although I expect more rather than the torture scene all the time, I felt pretty disturbing while watching the movie. Thought police have a pretty vital role in this movie. I expected that how police have investigated and arrested the criminal will be shown, but it is not.

Everyone has done well in acting. Such a movie has been made as a result of everyone's equal contribution. But Apu and the little girl of the movie was remarkable. mind blowing performance by both of them. The cinematography is extraordinary and brilliant.

In the end, I will say this, 'Janowar' is a milestone in the history of Bengali movies. It is very important for a Bengali film to have such a movie. I hope the good days of the Bengali film will come with the help of Raihan Rafi and others.

'Janowar aka The Beast' is a harrowing portrayal of rape and murder, based on a true story happened last year in Bangladesh. We see and read these headlines almost regularly, but do we ever understand how much torture the victims endure? This movie made me feel like I was in the crime-scene witnessing nerve-wrecking abuse. The unbearable torture at times made me feel cry for the victims , may their soul Rest in Peace. Raihan Rafi, director, successfully visualizes the brutality. Taking the concept of a happy family house suddenly turned into life-and-death parade, he beautifully contrasted the two opposite tones with artistic measure. All the cast members gave the best performance they could. Seeing the performance of the villain, you will be convinced to think of them as the real criminal. Such raw animosity! I was particularly impressed with the screenplay, the way script was built-taking a simple story of violence and treating with non-linear pattern and flashbacks, creating elements of crime-thriller through sound and camera movement was astonishing. All those slo-mo montages where the departed souls cry out adds more to the raw nature of emotions. Aside from rape and murder, this movie points out one of the most sensitive issue in the coming-of -age era, the violence towards women, how the very lack of security and how we failed as a society to give protection to our women. On that note, this film acts as a powerful social commentary. "Janowar" is not a perfect movie by any means, there are some unnecessary repetition and gore scenes that could have been trimmed, some silly graphics in the end too. But still, this film is a milestone in BD industry It can't get any more real, a true sketch of violence.

After seeing the movie, the family with which it happened I am really feeling terrified about thinking there situation at that time.Acting level was really good,Actors / actresses have successfully highlighted the issue

This is based on a true insident, great work by the director and the whole custing. Such amazing work is rarely seen.

One of the best film in Bangladesh all actor work is so good.i can't say this.

My hand was shaking in the time of giving this review.As this is based on a true event I can't think of the incident they had faced.

This is based on a true story where a group of thieves planned to attack their home for money but they did such heinous things which is surely tough to write.

About acting what I should say everyone was so perfect with their roles.It seems like I am living that moment and I am feeling that pain. Moonmoon Ahmed Moon how good you were,how strong was the emotion,loved it.Really proud of you.Have to mention the little girl Ariya Arittra who was so excellent with her role,such innocence,such nice and also was so pathetic to see in the worse moment. And Rashed Mamunur Rahman the villain,my goodness how cruel and beast he looked,totally a masterpiece.Taskin was superb. Last but not the least Raihan Rafi the Mastermind such terrible work he has done.The way to tell story,the camera work,editing and everything you cant say that there were any mistakes or anything

Dont watch it if you are weak,a good work like these should be appreciated.

It's really hard to watch this kind of film after knowing that the story is not a friction but a reality. You might become a little bit emotional after watching it. Anyway happy watching . And always be aware .

The story comes from a original events. The actual chemistry among the story line and characters are perfectly matched . The director shows boldness, by previewing devil and cruelty in good sense of screen.

The strong point in this film is the characters and acting. Everyone did a good part at their role. The weak point is the camera work. Definitely you can watch and enjoy it.

Do not watch if your heart is not that much strong. This one is masterpiece. Raihan Rafi, you did a great job in direction.

The web film is full of violences. Raihan Rafi is a talented Director. You have to hava braveness to wathc this film.

The concept was phenomenal. But it did not have any consequence. It just portrayed a gruesome incident. Should have had a proper ending. But the cast, cinematography was very appreciable. But it has some issue too. However I would recommend to watch this one and appreciate the work of the creators. I want more like this, actually better version of this type of dark movies in bangladeshi cinema.

Screenplay, dialogue, casting, acting was so weak. I guess most of the viewers got tricked by the "based on true events" term, color grading & BGM.

Character play, dialogue, acting was far from resembling the reality. The weapons looked fake. Could have been a gut wrenching experience for the viewers if the makers had approached the content with a way more professionalism.

Apu deserves a nomination for the best actor in a negative role

The casting is perfect along with tight editing, strong direction & meticulously done cinematography. Very few Bangladeshi film have this much depth. No doubt, 'Zanowar' sets a new bar for the Bangla Thiriller genre.

Must watch movie.. Just tie your hreat and watch a human turn into monster

This is the first movie i'm reviewing on IMDB, i think it deserves an out of box appreciation. It is made with that much visionary what the victims face but we can't able to imagine how tragic it is. We can't imagine how and what was happened with them by reading an article and news. But hats of to Raihan Rafi for this effort on Portraying a visual to this tragedy. The actors don't make u feel that they are acting.

A great casting and i never blinked my eyes for a second while watching. But, felt very sorry to this family. 🤕

Mind blowing acting by the actors. Really pathetic story and the director made it really beautifully.

Really nice movie, recommended to all but light hearted person should not watch this.
