Standard witch/demon fair. The demon girls were neat, not necessarily scary. Plot is similar to many other films, but it goes smoothly. Actresses are all very good looking and lead actress shows off her exemplary body numerous times.
But hear me out: first of all, the effect are simply laughable, bad, incredibly weak and cheap, even for an 80's movie! I know it sounds like a joke, but it's not, bear this in mind, the effects will be something to bring a smile instead of fascination or anything else. Secondly, the ending will look rather stupid, but it takes a little patience, cause there is more than meets the eye.
Now that I put down the bad parts, let me tell you why I would recommend it: it lacks jump scares, but it has that old school tension, it frightens you as you watch and see what happens, your eyes are stuck to the glass and your heart rate is growing, little by little. It made me feel like an 14 years old kid again, watching his first scary "in the woods" movie. So for this great touch, I graded it a 6, sure, some will say it's way too much, but for me it really did the trick. Got me wanting more, waiting patiently to see what happens next, even the ending was something I craved for. So I was there, from the beginning to its end, felt quite good too. It was like a blast in the past, and for that I am thankful to everyone involved in the making of "Demon Legacy".
Now that you know what to expect, it's up to you to decide if you'll take it for a watch or not, but I'm telling you, it's great for a late night movie, alone or with friends, with something to chew on and some drinks. It made my night!
Cheers!

It could have been a good film, but the acting and effects were rubbish. The storyline had the potential to be good, but it failed. The effects were poor though I am amazed at how white the nightie managed to stay.
No wonder they changed the name for the UK market.
This might be the very worst film I ever sat through (well to the bitter end). It plays out like a third rate 'Evil Dead' with the most wooden acting and the very lamest special effects. There are just a handful of films I struggle to fined any merit in whatsoever and 'Demon Legacy' is unfortunately one.
I don't care how much an eager actress is jerking her body around, covered in make up and with the camera sped up. If the young lady in question is naked or even just topless then the effect is just humourous.
And that pretty much sums up the entire film. Which, if they hadn't tried to play it straight, might have made for an enjoyable schlocky romp. Instead, you just watch disbelievingly as actresses try to deliver lines like "Oh my gosh, there is nothing up here but trees" with a straight face and then sing a "dare song" at each other when the plot needs one of them to do something stupid but the writers couldn't figure out how else to have them do it.
And as for the ending ... well, this review doesn't contain spoilers but suffice to say the ending is worse than anything I've already covered.
The only thing that stops me from giving this film a 1 is that some of the actresses are really trying very hard. It's just a shame that the rest of the film wasn't worthy of their efforts.

- TriviaAfter burning a prop Ouji board, a series of catastrophic events plagued the production, including a blizzard, a fire (an actress' hair was singed) a flood, sets being destroyed, loss of funding, and loss of cast. The producers actually had two spiritual advisers come in to cleanse the bad mojo from the project.
- GoofsWhile characters hide in a neighbouring house, about 45-50 minutes in, they hear others on the roof. Those same others are then seen running through the woods before actually being seen on the roof.
