Not bad, but not that good. Has potentials and needs more episodes to judge. But, why are they trying badly to fit every ethnicity group in such a weird way? Yes, diversity is required, im brown myself. But the way they handle things in hollywood is just not that it.
Am i gonna keep watching? Yes. Is it half as good as the original? Unfortunately no.
Ps: they should get rid of the background laughing it doesn't fit here like most of the shows idk why.

Hillary Duff still has some acting chops, but the rest of the cast looks like they got actors who didnt get the part for iCarly. But at the same time, Josh Radnor wasnt the best actor in the world in HIMYM season 1, and is probably one of the most improved actors over time. So I will for sure give it a shot, hoping the cast improves. And good on them for getting relatively unknown people.
They could lose he laugh track - I think as a generation we can do away with the laugh track all together. Half way through i turned down the volume down and only read the subtitles. And I still laughed here and there. So they dont need the laugh track to tell us at home when to laugh.

Funny jokes, but some random connections and forced decisions. Also, the punchline of some jokes could have been better have they not stretched them so much. I mean, 87 tinder dates in 1 year? Coincidentally meeting everyone at the same party? Nevertheless, I found it okay and I'll give it a try and watch the next episodes.

Somehow the dialogue, pace and characters of this pilot seem more outdated than the original gang so many years ago.
The style is pretty much the same but it's now very noticeable how much Bob Saget brought to the story (rip Mr Tanner).
I gotta admit that some of the almost verbatim conversations and the "cameo" in the end brought me on the nostalgia hype.
I wanted to write this review after just one episode because that original pilot hook me up from the very beginning, and this one...it's got an uphill battle ahead.
I love Hillary Duff (fan of hers on "Younger") and believe or not I truly loved Francia Raisa in The secret life or the American Teenager.
It's got a little bit of potential, but like I said at the start, it feels like an older and much generic show than the og HIMYM.
Let's see what's next, I'm still hoping to take "The Leap"

It had some awkward and clunky moments, but the characters are all pretty fun and it's looking pretty clear that they're not just trying to make a 1:1 exact carbon copy of How I Met Your Mother. I'm excited to see the show hopefully find its footing because there's definitely potential.

The pilot was really, really uninteresting, it was bland like a generic sitcom you would watch once because there is nothing else on TV and then just forget it exists. I honestly hope it will get better with the next episodes, but so far I didn't like any of the characters and honestly good not laugh at any of the jokes, they were bland and obvious. Someone compared the show to a Disney channel sitcom and it is a very accurate comparison. I am really disappointed, because I really wanted to like it.

I know most people will criticize the show by absolutely comparing to the original How I Met Your Mother and it's very hard to fall in love with an all new cast right away. But the new show seems to have its feet on the ground. They didn't try to fly higher than they could, the plot was simple, updated to recent tech, habits with the same feel of the pilot of the first show.
Haters will hate and blind defenders of HIMYM will not like this one at first. HIMYM was one my my favorite shows of all time, but I'm really open to this new one.

Not that bad compared to what the trailer was. The characters were kinda interesting and i do not dislike them so far, except for Valentina. You cant say that you are magical without doing or saying something to back it up, otherwise it comes accross as arrogant. This would be fine if it is going to be a recurrent joke on the series but we will see. So far it could be a decent continuation.

This was horrible, I wonder how I will ever be able to get back the time I wasted in this.
Terrible acting, it feels like looking at a kid school show.
The recorded laugh track helped me understand when this was supposed to be funny, but it just wasn't. It was horrible. Whoever wrote this should consider a different line of work. I can't believe this went through a whole production process.
Save yourself the pain and do literally anything else.

It's Lilly's & Marshall's apartment 😭😭😭😭😭😭 it hit me straight in my feels
How I Met Your Mother was such an amazing show! This first episode isn't that but I will give it a chance for HIMYM's sake. Hope it gates better cause we all need something to fill in the HIMYM voide.
The idea to have a female version of How I Met Your Father has potential, however, daunting a task. The characters are cute and the locations are fun and story elements have promise on their own. The problem lies with the excessive exposition and unnatural pacing in the scenes without the classic How I Met Your Mother narration. I desperately want the characters to take a breath. I also cannot escape the feeling that i am watching a student written stage play with under acted delivery. I hope for a quick turnaround for the show's sake. Kim Cattall's addition to the show is a much needed breath of fresh air while the rest of the cast are lacking commitment and are desperately lacking the dramatic comedy skills of the original cast - surprising as Hilary Duff had a lot of practice in Lizzie McGuire.

Great music, amazing cast, good flow, and actually made me lol! The cast fits extremely well together. Perfect balance of nostalgia and new! Even my husband likes it and he's extremely picky! LOVE!!! BRAVO.

I'm sure we've all had enough of reboots and remakes these past ten years. However, this pilot is one of the most pointless ones I've ever seen.
Why even make a remake of a beloved show if you're not even going to go all out? A few references just reminds me how much better the original HIMYM pilot is compared to...this. It's not even that HIMYM was a top-tier comedy, or that I was looking for something exactly like it. But at least HIMYM didn't pull any punches. Ted's irrational relationship choices, Barney's charmingly unlikable attitude, and Lily and Marshall's wacky chemistry is already apparent in the first episode. Compared to this, its the most emotional experience ever.
There's nothing interesting about this pilot at all BESIDES the idea of a possible relationship, which is exactly the opposite of HIMYM's pilot (and honestly every other above-garbage sitcom). The style of the show is the exact same as any other, but with no fun. No crazy, fast, dumb jokes (something that HIMYM had perfected) but instead slow...dialogue...like something big is about to...happen. But nothing did. Even a WOOSH sound for flashbacks would energize this pilot a little bit.
Not to mention the massively cliched story with absolutely nothing else to glean from it. Posh British man thinks America is dirty wow. Man gets engaged and then...nothing. Some would say this is a fun introduction to the characters, that nothing HUGE needs to happen immediately. But, again, just watch HIMYM's pilot. It's leagues ahead of whatever this is trying to be. Nothing amazing, but it was clear that the writes were having fun, trying to be entertaining. HIMYF's story has nothing but a bunch of cliches and modern references. "Woah wouldn't it be funny if we made a siri joke, or an uber joke?" There's nothing to get from this, entertainment or otherwise.
I hope to all that continue watching the show that it gets better one day, but something tells me it will always be in the shadow of the original, because for some reason that's all it's trying to be. You can't change something that doesn't want to.

They should bring in the old crew, maybe, Barney (NPH) to train them, and add a little pinch of laughter into the show. Other than that, waste of time.
Sure, it's a little cheesy and has some of the extra exposition that comes with pilots, but all the characters and actors are likeable. I definitely enjoyed myself watching the pilot and the second episode, and look forward to seeing the rest of the season.
I am an *avid* HIMYM fan and was wary about a new series trying to reuse the same formula or outshine it's original (see: That 80s Show). HIMYF has a lot of promise and Hilary Duff is an amazing leading lady (but we knew that since her McGuire days). They didn't try to rehash any of the old jokes and you can tell they've got good writing sense to make their own (they did throw in a *little* nod to the OG fans, of course).
I was surprised by how I liked it! Sure, some of it was cheesy. There were jokes that fell and made me roll my eyes, but that's to be expected in a pilot where the writers and cast are still finding their footing. Overall, I'm excited for more episodes!

*Don't worry, NO spoilers*
The first episode starts with Hilary Duff's character getting into an Uber because she's late for a Tinder date. She asks to use a phone charger and literally says "My phone's belly is hungry, she's all 'feed me mama!'" And makes a fake crying baby voice while saying it. 😐 and then the laugh track happened, that was genuinely a real actual line they put in this show and then had the audacity to think it was funny enough to add a laugh track.
Soon to follow was a very obvious "twist" to her date, meeting her best friend and roommate, wasting perfectly good apples, and I wasn't able to continue watching after that.
I'm honestly BLOWN AWAY that anyone continued to watch this show after more than 10 minutes, I can't imagine sitting through the entire episode.
And I'm rating this as a 30 year old woman who actually enjoys some chick flicks. Big yikes.
