What an experience to sit in a theater and listen to everyone laugh out loud, through out the film. The ensemble cast is wonderful and pitch perfect together. The performances are brilliant, the pace is perfect, the dialog is crisp and witty and every adult can relate to this story. There are enough twists and turns in the story to keep this from being predictable, but even if you do see something coming, the performances make it a joy to watch it unfold on the screen. It will make you look at your best friendships in a whole new light and relationships from a long term perspective. Thank you Marty and Drew for one of the best adult comedies I've seen in years. Can't wait for the sequel!
I saw this film at a "screening." It was very funny. It starts off funny and is funny throughout. A friend and I watched it together. I am 46 years old. I could relate to characters and their lives and their friendship totally. This film made was thought provoking and poignant. I highly recommend it to everyone. There is quite a bit of "language," but nothing vulgar or offensive or over the top. Do not let that stop you from seeing it or you will miss out on a great film. Be prepared to laugh at their life and...hopefully your own. Because everyone should be able to do that, right? The writing is not only well-done, but humorous. The acting is good. The characters are great.
It started slow, one of the central characters is miserable, the other a man incapable of forming an emotional bond with a woman, I started thinking about whether I wanted to watch the whole movie or not, as I didn't particularly enjoy a 50 something chatting up and flirting with a barely 20 something.
At the end of the movie I can definitely say that it did hold my interest, the way the characters were portrayed was with depth, poignancy and humour. The movie took me on a journey with the characters, and didn't (as I read in another review) "wrap it up with a ribbon & bow", which meant it had a real life flavour.
An insight into human development and growth, and the mistakes we all make along the way.

Wow! What a wonderful, endearing movie. The characters are all so genuine and you can actually feel their angst as they travel a path that many have endured during middle age transitions. The story line keeps you involved all along the way. (Those great golf shots will be loved by golf enthusiasts as well.) But probably the purity of the story and the everydayness connection to real people is what will make people rent this movie long after it's left the theaters. Casting was brilliant, and the familiar faces add an element of "coolness" to the stellar ensemble. Inerestingly, I went with a 28-year-old man who might not be able to identify with the main characters but, nonetheless, enjoyed the many scenarios that set up great comic outcomes. This is just one of those captivating movies that reminds you why you love to go to the movies.
I've seen this cute indie movie a little while ago. Being a fan of independent productions I just had to watch it. While not having the best story & script it was still entertaining enough. The movie also had a nice use of locations. Their low budget was seemingly very well spent. There are no famous actors in this flick except for a few well-known TV players like Wendie Malick, Miriam Flynn or Kathleen No one. There should be more projects like this one in particular. Age is still a huge issue, not just in Hollywood but worldwide. Aging should be displayed in more movies/TV shows and we shouldn't be seeing just a bunch of 20 or 30something actors on silver/small screen. I really hope it can be done in the coming years.
