I am a huge fan of the series and I agree with many comments about how it radically changed from Season 1 to Season 2. Now it is way better! This is not your typical sitcom or comedy series full of cheap jokes or zingers. Ted Lasso has those and so much more. It is deep and troubling, it makes you like characters and hate them in the next episode. It never ceases to explore human nature and feelings.
That's why this season finale is brilliant. It closes the loop on many stories but opens up a whole new menu of possibilities. You already know Season 3 os NOT going to be a dud because there is still so much to explore based on where the story was left.
You typically have one cliffhanger. What about 6 or 7? Just brilliant.

Season 2 was a disappointing letdown compared to S1, so it is appropriate that the season finale was very much a letdown as well.
It is important to discount the usual avalanche of 10/10 reviews posted by hyper-fans, who overlook the flaws and missteps. There have been no episodes this season deserving of an objective 10 score in my opinion, unlike S1 which was brilliant. But scores aside, this episode personifies where S2 went off the rails. There was very little clever humour, though I did get a smile out of the biscuits made with salt and Rebecca's reaction, and Roy's postgame greeting for Jamie. But otherwise it was all quite serious. And of course Ted is still torturing himself over his divorce.
As predicted by others, Rupert did reappear as a team owner, and his whispered conversation last episode with Nate now makes more sense. The cliffhanger last episode regarding Keeley and Roy resolved itself only for another to be created at the last minute, almost as an afterthought, and quite clumsily at that. As for Nate, his speech to Ted near the end made no sense to me and made me think I had missed something. His reactions were very unrealistic and really stretched credibility. For that matter, so were Ted's after Nate spewed his vitriol. In any other world he would have been escorted out of the facility.
All in all, a disappointing close to a disappointing season, one that saw the series change from a warm, uplifting show to a largely unfunny soap opera trying to deliver rather heavy-handed messages. One hopes Sudekis and the writers will take the honest criticisms of how S2 went wrong and right the ship in S3, and not be deceived by the can-do-no-wrong opinions of the show offered by the superfans.

I'm not sure what the 'top reviewers' were talking about when they said that this season was worse than the last or went downhill. This season progressively got better. This finale was the perfect close to a wonderful season. The episode tugged on my heart strings, angered me, made me happy, and at the end so excited for the next season. Major props to Nick Mohammed on his brilliant acting this season.

I only wish the episodes were longer and that the season never ended. Jason Sudeikis is a genius in bringing happiness and heart to the screen. All the characters are well formed. They create instant family and you feel like you wouldn't want to have a beer with any one of them at any time. Even the antiheroes warm your heart. You never regret time spent watching Ted Lasso. I find myself watching episodes just because they make me feel so good.
Parts of season 2 has seemed like a different show in many ways. The last two episodes of the season has seemed to got the momentum swinging back to the levels of season 1 again.
Overall season 2 was by no means bad, but when comparing to season 1 it fell a bit short for me on a few too many occasions. Overall season 1 would be a 9/10, while season 2 overall is about a 7/10.
Looking forward to what season 3 may bring.

I'm a little torn on the show's handling of Nate. I get what they're going for, but I'm a little unsure on the execution of it. But, other than that, this season has been great! This episode nicely ties a bow on a lot of threads, has some brilliant Ted Lasso sentimental-in-all-the-right-ways moments, and overall was just a fantastic, tightly packed and brilliantly written finale to what's becoming one of my favourite shows of all time.

I feel like this season dropped off a bit. Didn't feel the same love for it I did the first season. On that note, it's funny seeing all the different reviews, both good and bad. I feel like everyone that's been reviewing has a good point. Some people like the change of pace and others don't, but no one is really "wrong".. it all comes down to taste.
This season was surely more about the personal relationships between the characters whereas the first season was more or less about a dysfunctional crew of people that were trying to build a relationship as a team or trying to figure out where they fit in.
Does it make sense that the show would go in this direction? Sure.. I mean, by the end of the first season everyone had pretty much come together so having the second season be exactly like the first wouldn't make much sense. That being said, it is still vastly different from the first season so everyone's complaints and praises are pretty valid.
What I find funny is the fact that people pointing this out aren't wrong at all. Though some may have enjoyed it more, and some less, everyone here has got a point so.. had I never watched the show and came to this review section, nearly all the comments (bad and good) would be helpful in the decision to watch it. But I'm seeing all the more negative comments getting slammed by, I'm assuming, people who enjoyed it and don't want to hear someone's opinion who thought it was bad.. so they're just slamming the "not helpful" button.
The negatives and the positives are all pretty helpful, in my opinion. I didn't really like this season nearly as much as the first but I'm not going around putting a thumbs down on everyone's comment who liked it. As long as it's an honest review and not just someone badmouthing it without giving explanation, I'd say most of these comments deserve a thumbs up, even if you don't necessarily agree with them.

I like season 2 as a whole and this was a nice way to wrap it up.
Yet I can't help but to feel a little disappointed. I was blown away by the first season, this one didn't have the same effect on me.
I really have nothing negative to say about this show, it's unique, funny, emotional, the acting is solid and the characters have a lot of depth.
In short: A decent season but in no way better than the first one.

What a great show, I truly am impressed with the quality of the acting. This show has heart, you can feel it.
The finale was fantastic! What happened to you Nate? Can't wait til next season.

I thought that every episode this season delivered all of the emotions and feelings. Nate held his back so hard that is why he's exploding into a narcissistic. Positive energy and talking expressing emotions work like a glass of water after a handful of salt.
