Who Came from the Other Side?

Two teenager are smoking grass in a car parked at an abandoned area. Out of the blue, they hear a noise in a warehouse and the youngster Dave decides to snoop around. A shape-shifter catches him and assumes his form while another one catches his girlfriend Jill to use her body. When the teenagers are found dead with three marks on the palate, the Fringe Division investigates the case and soon they find a shape- shifter embryo at the warehouse. After a visit to the Massive Dynamic, they conclude that Thomas Jerome Newton is the responsible for the transference. Further, he is trying to bring something big from the parallel universe that will be synchronized with our universe. Now they have to find where the transfer will happen.

"The Man from the Other Side" is another intriguing episode of "Fringe". Now Peter has discovered the truth that Olivia and Walter have tried to tell him. But the great question is who has come from the other side? My vote is eight.

    The Fan Is Finally Hit

There are two distinct point of interest here. The global on is that the shape shifters are trying to get someone from one universe to the other. Success in this would be catastrophic (or at least highly unpredictable). Three of these folks come in, but one is unformed, like a sixty pound embryo, yet unborn. So the gang must spring into action to disrupt the passage. Walter has a method. This leads to the information that Walter has feared, the realization by Peter that Walter is not his father, that he was pulled in when he made the jump. Peter was a mess when this series started, a sarcastic jerk. He grew to love Walter. Both Liv and Walter wanted to tell him but the seriousness of their work always got in the way. The kicker for Peter was that his mother was a suicide, not an accident victim. It will be interesting to see where Peter fits in as the series continues.

How many more times are they going to make the same episode?

I've never seen a show as repetitive as Fringe and this is another repetitive episode we've seen before. We've already seen shapeshifters and we've already seen the whole "parallel universe is trying to bring something back from their universe to ours" storyline to death already.

This show is getting really boring and writers are running out of ideas so they are recycling the same ideas over and over and no one except diehard fans of this show are enjoying this.

This is also why the ratings took a plunge around this time. They made a show that repeats the same storylines over and over and most people got bored and stopped watching at this point.

    • Trivia
In this episode, one pivotal character is named "Verona" and another character takes a drug that makes him appear to be dead but which really only knocks him out for awhile. Both of these are references to William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet": the play takes place in Verona, and Juliet takes a drug that makes her only appear to be dead.

Olivia Dunham: You remember what you told Newton?

Dr. Walter Bishop: No, but as they say in Finland...

Dr. Walter Bishop: [Along with Peter and Astrid] ... there's more than one way to roast a reindeer.
