Renewed, Canceled, or Ending?

When high-school sweethearts John (Seeley) and Kathy (Irvin) find out Kathy is pregnant, they decide to get married and move to Cambridge so John can fulfill his scholarship to Harvard. But faced with the harsh reality of their situation, Kathy leaves John and their baby, compelling him to rent a room from Dorothy (Potts), a psychic who encourages him as he struggles to balance school and fatherhood.

Freshman Father: Maturity Defeats Immaturity ***1/2

&quot;Freshman Father&quot; is a made-for-TV Hallmark movie. The story is just as the title says: A recent high school graduate gets his sweetheart pregnant and they movie to Boston where he juggles becoming a father with maintaining his Harvard scholarship. The movie is just as bad as it seems. This is based on a true story, and most of the problems lie in that fact. The writer seems to have taken events and put them together without any connection. I&#39;m assuming the real story was somewhat interesting, but here they found a way to tell it as boring as possible. There was no emotion, affection, or sentiment, not even any humour or romance. The relatively new, up-and-coming actors, Britt Irvin and Andrew Seeley, were actually pretty good considering what they were given. But other than that, there is nothing to draw you in. All we have in &quot;Freshman Father&quot; is a story about college and young parenthood but written by someone who doesn&#39;t know anything about either, except for what he has learned from made-for-TV movies.

Freshman Father

This is supposedly a true life story of a young couple, he is a Harvard freshman, facing life&#39;s challenges when she becomes president and goes off with him to the Ivy League School. Unable to cope with motherhood and its responsibilities, she leaves him with the child. The story is nicely told, but it&#39;s so hard to believe. I cannot imagine having such an understanding calculus and English professors. His landlady is a gift from the Lord. The picture just shows you that when you take responsibility, you can succeed in life. A 17 year old girl could not face this responsibility. To her, life was all about that high school prom. Her mother warned her what to expect, but it was to no avail.

Not really worth mentioning. It&#39;s something my sister-in-law insisted on watching on television the other night. It&#39;s similar to a made-for-Lifetime movie, but it was made for the Hallmark channel. There&#39;s one important difference that would have made it unbearable for Lifetime viewers: the protagonist is not only a man, but a ridiculously honorable man dedicated to his infant son. The movie was kind of interesting in a study of clichés, and as a look into the mind of complete idiots. Whoever wrote this has never been to college, has probably not had a child and perhaps not even an adult relationship. The story revolves around an 18 year-old boy who gets a full ride to Harvard. His girlfriend purposely gets pregnant to keep him from going, but his mother insists and he ends up going with pregnant new wife in tow. At first, life seems okay. I mean, after all, his scholarship pays for an apartment so nice I imagine it must cost something in the $5000 a month range. Of course, the boy can afford it because he works in the student book store eight hours a day. After the baby is born, however, the girl becomes jealous that he prefers his father to her and up and leaves both her husband to deal with both college and fatherhood alone (and is never heard from again, apparently!). Of course, despite struggling greatly, he eventually makes it out perfectly fine, with the help of Annie Potts, playing a psychic who gives him room and board. Once in a while, the dean of Harvard pops up to look down snootily upon the boy because, as he thinks, he&#39;s a hick from Boise. Or it could just be that he&#39;s so incredibly irresponsible that any sane person who came upon him would tell him to get his ass back to Boise, shut his damn mother up about Harvard, attend a local school while living at home and get his idiot wife in line.

8/10 - what an amazing true story - real, heartwarming, and super lovable, this is one of my all-time favorite TV movies

I have to say not many movies moved me quite like this one did, Yes this one is based on a true story and the dad in this deserves Dad of the decade while the really terrible mom well I won&#39;t go into what she deserves. YES I RECOMMEND IT. James Welch Henderson, Arkansas 1/17/2021

I really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to anyone i think that Drew Seeley did a great job. I thought as someone said some of the stuff was a little unbelievable like the professors being so nice and understanding, the landlady being so nice to lower the rent, and too watch his son while he is in class.Also the main character John was like this perfect guy like he was so understanding when she told him she was pregnant, he didn&#39;t care when she said that she got pregnant so he would stay with her, and when she left John with Adam(there son) to move back to there hometown he was upset and tried to get her to stay but he was not angry with her. But it was a great movie
