The Real Ghostbusters

I feel that everyone who criticized the show about its silly episodes are wrong. It's whats making g the show last for 13 seasons. The behind the scene clips of Dean singing " eye of the tiger", "imaginary friend", "the real ghostbusters", etc. The writers have active imaginations that are creative including fun to watch. If it was all seriousness. Then it won't be fun to watch. Their really Talented writers. Name one other show that has the same or similar quirkiness.

Dean and Sam receive a text message from Chuck asking them to come asap in the Pinewood Hotel. Once there, they discover that they had been lured by the number 1 fan, Becky Rosen that uses Chuck's cell phone to bring the Winchester brothers to a Supernatural Convention.

Dean and Sam realize that their fans are dressed just like them and driving Chevy Impalas 1967. During a RPG, Dean and Sam discovers that the hotel is haunted by the ghost of Leticia Gore, the director of an orphanage that killed four children including her own son. Dean and Sam seek out her bones with two other fans, and when she is destroyed, they discover that the legend was not correct and now everybody is trapped in the hotel and threatened by the real menace.

"The Real Ghostbusters" is a silly but funny episode of Supernatural totally out of the context of the Apocalypse of the Fifth Season. The references to the real Dean and Sam by their fans are hilarious. The conclusion with the lead that Sam gets from Becky about where the Colt might be is probably the only connection with the storyline of the Fifth Season. My vote is eight.

The single worst episode in the first five seasons.. Holy crap so cringey

Classic ghost, hilarious, drama, this episode is just buckets of fun. Only spn can do something this crazy.

This is probably the episodes most damaged and changed by the later revelations around Chuck. Everything involving his character plays a lot darker now; this episode lovingly poked fun at some of the excesses of the fan culture but now it plays with ever so subtle mockery of the hardcore fans. It is hard to see Damien and Barnes as anything but objects of derision. It feels more like mocking their queer fans they including them in some way. It is a pity because this use to be a near perfect meta episode. Now we are left wondering where the laughing *with* stops and the laughing *at* begins.
