    The Lobbyist and the Driver

In a location of prostitutes, the driver Peter Russo is found murdered on the floor and his boss, the notorious lobbyist and lawyer Harvey Dublin, is apparently kidnapped. Lisbon is assigned for the case by the new CBI director Gale Bertram, but Patrick Jane refuses to work in the case. However, Hightower forces Lisbon to join Patrick to her team in the case and she lures him and brings Patrick to visit the family of Russo that misses him. Patrick joins the investigation and tells that Dublin is dead, and not kidnapped. Meanwhile their investigation shows that Bertram had a business with Dublin and Patrick lures him to catch the killer.

"Red Sky at Night" is another good episode of "The Mentalist". The cynicism of the shameless Patrick Jane is hilarious since he makes fun of everybody, no matter the situation. The conclusion with the identity of the killer is unexpected. My vote is eight.

    • Trivia
The book Jane is reading during his stakeout is "Songs of Innocence and Experience" by William Blake. Its second part, "Songs of Experience", contains the poem "The Tyger" as quoted by Red John in the previous episode, Red Sky in the Morning (2010).
    • Goofs
When Van Pelt is helping Rigsby clean his eyes, she is using water. Law enforcement personnel would know to use milk to clean pepper spray and not water, as water would only cause more irritation.
    • Quotes

Teresa Lisbon: Where is Mrs. Dublin?

Kimball Cho: Yeah, she cries a lot. Then she has to freshen her makeup. Then she cries again. Sort of a cycle.
