Say Cheese

One of the funniest episodes I've seen in the series. Barney just makes this show. The dialogue in this episode was very witty and I always love the flashbacks.

Lily having a whinge about Ted when everyone hates the group photos. Making Ted out to be the bad guy when Lily is horribly self-serving. Calling her birthday Lily-day says enough.

Barney is still the remaining comic relief that this show needs during these episodes.

Ted is an idiot. This show is carried by everyone else outside of Ted. Even voiceover Ted is better than actual Ted.

Plot In A Paragraph: Ted upsets Lily when he brings "one of his random skanks" along to her birthday party. Lily argues that Ted and his many random skanks have ruined a lot her treasured group photos, whilst Ted says Lily is just being a birthday snob!! Meanwhile Robin notices, there is not a bad photo of Barney in all of Lily's photos (in fact he pulls the exact same pose in every picture) so she sets about getting a bad photo of Barney, but it proves impossible.

It is hard to argue with Marshall and Lily on this one, as Ted just turned up at their house with his guest, without even asking them. Also instead of Ted bringing Lily's favourite cheesecake, Amanda (a chef) was going to bake a cake instead. What happened with the cake was ridiculous!! Just his stupid was this Woman?? She was certainly no Dinah in the kitchen!! Ted demanding Marahall apologise to Amanda was ridiculous.

That said the Barney plot was once again a lot of fun!!

In this episode, Ted angers Lily when he brings a random date to her birthday party, so she is forced to remind him of all the other random women he has brought along to important functions, only to discover that they weren't "the Besides that, the group discovers that there aren't any bad photographs of Barney and Robin tries hard to take one.

This is one of the very few episodes of this season in which I could totally emphasize with Marshall and Lily - especially when Marhsall was outraged by Ted's date. On the other hand, Ted was being a jerk in this episode - I didn't like him in most of this season's episodes. Robin and Barney were fine, the storypart with ridiculously photogenic Barney was pretty funny.

The screenplay of this episode was written not very well and some parts in it were dumb, but most of the time this is one of the funnier episodes of season #5. Most actors were good, but I hated to see Laura Prepon again - I hate her role, but I also think she is a poor actress.

So, all in all, this is quite a nice episode while being below the standards of HIMYM season 1 and 3.
