A Story And A Character That You Can't Forget,

I just read about this movie in the LA Times! I can't believe it's in Top 2000 most popular movies of all time! It backfired on the downloaders! Yeahhhh!!

I'll never forget my first viewing of this movie at the theater and will always look back fondly on it for one reason: helping me quit smoking cigarettes! I was expecting an intense movie and I got it. Little did I realize how well-received this film would be and how it propelled this small film into the front page of the LA Times Although entertaining, this is not always a fun movie to watch, especially with the scenes with the devil trying to mess with Luke's mother's death Shannen Fields is excellent as the wife of the lead star. A major part of the film is psychological more than violent as Satan constantly taunts "Poor Luke" while he tries his best to defeat Satan on the Witness Stand. The by-play between the two is a game in itself.

The looks on his face, his fascinating vocabulary with intelligent sarcasm and frankness, never ceases to entertain.

    I give the film a solid '8'

    10+ - Extraordinary

10/10 - What a movie! What an experience! You'll want to watch this one over and over again. A powerful story of a man who sues the devil for 8 trillion. All I can say is.....wow.

This is not just another Christian movie. It's about struggles that everyone faces in life. But knowing we will spend eternity in heaven. Not hell. It involves issues that everyone can relate to from financial challenges to faith to marriage to fighting the devil every step of the way. It will make you laugh and cry, but in the end it will make you realize that "all things are possible with God" and He loves us so much He sent His son to die on the Cross. You'll feel great when you leave the theater.

    I recommend it highly.

10+ - The Most Underrated Film of 2010

The rating is ridiculously low brought on by all the haters who stole this film online. They will stand before a living God someday and give an account. The Bible is clear about the wicked shaking like a leaf at the Great White Throne judgement.

With movies nowadays being nothing but flashy, over-the-top, CG-fests, "Suing the Devil" holds up like osmium. It's a powerful movie about the spiritual battle you face following Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The cinematography is good because it's quite understated and that's a virtue in today's cinema. The acting, while containing pretty lame Southern accents, is still pretty good. Even from the lead dude.

Sorely forgotten in it's day, the script tells a very deep, original and interesting story, with lots of development, respect for the characters, delicate pacing, and a head-spinning ending. The movie is solely about the people and their struggles. Fear takes hold of the audience through the dialogue.

Think of "Suing the Devil" as a Christian Woody Allen trying his hand at a horror/thriller and succeeding. This movie never makes you jump, but it puts you in a general state of discomfort through its atmosphere. As with all memorable supernatural dramas, this one handles its spectacle with discretion and grace.

Isn't that what we hope to see when we watch any movie? 10/10.

Best Christian movie of the decade!!

    Man alive. Just saw this....

I LOVED MALCOLM MCDOWELL (sp?)' s performance in this!! He really convinced me he was the lucifer so discussed in Scripture.

A stellar cast giving some of their best performances, visuals that deliver beyond what I imagined, a perfect mix of humor, passion & tragedy, and a feeling of grandeur, scope & impending doom. Perhaps as an ensemble piece with so many characters & the inability to concentrate on any one except Satan's, it can't be measured against some of the classic character study films, but even the casual moviegoer can grasp the ideas & not get lost - who who win the trial? Now to the characters. All I can say is, "Wow." I was a little apprehensive about the casting at first; I'd created such real images of the characters in my imagination, I almost didn't want them spoiled for me. However, I was not disappointed in the least. Corbin Bernsen, though not one of my favorite actors, was believable.

    So was Tom Sizemore (amazing!)

Overall I give the film an 7 of 10.

Malcolm McDowell gives an impeccable performance. However, the material he was given to work with was not as good as 'Clockwork'. In fairness, perhaps there was no way it could be. In 'Clockwork', he was somehow more foreboding, more of a sort of superhuman monster; in Suing, he's more accessible, a guy you meet on the street. Maybe it was impossible to maintain the mystery of who the devil is that we saw in Clockwork because of the risk of doing a rehash. I'd give the overall of Satan character a 9 of 10 in this film, vs. a 10 of 10 in the last one. Not quite as good, but still very good.

Satan is a devilish beast - brutal, merciless - takes captives.

Luke's character, on the other hand, fell flat in this film. He was good, bu that's no excuse for what was done to Luke. His character gets a 3 of 10.

The story was much weaker in Suing than in Clockwork. It almost seemed like an excuse to present us with the characters, rather than a story in and of itself. Still, it had no other major flaws, so it gets a 6 of 10.

Overall I give the film an 7 of 10. Very well done with a few weaknesses, well worth watching.
