Some of the reviewers out there were a little harsh in their critique - It was just a one actor movie, or it had too much sighing, or it was boring, etc..

For a small budget production, and minimal special effects, it was actually pretty decent, and it kept my attention all the way to the end. Mikayla Iverson did a good job as a stressed out computer game developer who inadvertently stumbles onto some code she was not supposed to see, and finds herself on the run from people who want to shut her down.

I generally rate a movie by how well it can to hold my attention, and this one kept me glued to my screen all the way through!

My only regret is that it I wish it lasted a little longer, to give it a more complete ending.

A good, watchable movie, and I recommend it.

Bad story, bad acting, bad writing - just plain bad. Too bad they didn't ask ANY real computer people how to make some semblance of a computer geek. Main character's "main" computer move was selecting the input for her computer monitor - yes, selecting Display Port was her number one computer move. Mysteries abound, none of them believable or solved. You'd think by the end of the story, you'd be on team "main character" - you would be wrong. At the end of the story I couldn't care less if anything was solved, if anyone lived or died, I was just begging for the movie to end. Proving how bad the writing is, the end of story pulls a Indian Jones (again, oh so not believable). So save your crypto shadows - there is zero reason to watch this dribble.

Anyone giving this a high rating is lying! Do NOT believe them and waste your time like I did! ZERO chance this is s 7 movie!

Basically a 1 person cast. Lame plot, lame 'action', ridiculous ending.

There was nothing in this movie that made any sense. Worst portrayal of some super hacker/high skill computer person ever. She's so smart but keeps getting 'hacked'. She's being chased, but no one ever tries to really get her. She's what, rich to afford her set-up on acres and acres including and underground bunker? No backstory whatsoever.

The main character is all over the place with her emotions, acting, work practices, everything. It's bad!

I've already told you how bad it is but I have to meet this 500 word requirement! Why does this exist?!? If you can't say what you think succinctly it's not worth saying it.

Anyway, you been warned.

Frankly, I lost interest after 45 minutes of a girl talking meaninglessly to herself, and no less than about 2 million sighs. I think Cara deserves to become the first sigh-master!

I'd give this film no more than 2 stars, with an interesting title but a boring plot that seems to have no direction, other than chopping wood, sitting on rocks, and scrolling through meaningless code on computer screens. A character can only talk to herself for a finite amount of time before it becomes a distraction.

The most puzzling aspect of this film is how it earned a 5.8 IMDB rating. I watched with a friend who expressed similar comments.

Effects on the computer screen are OK. Acting from the sole actor is OK. It's just kinda pointless. The plot doesn't lead very far. The lead character bounces between staring at the screen in frustration and shuffling through the woods.

I got some help finishing this review. Crypto Shadows promised a thrilling dive into the world of cryptocurrency and espionage, but delivered nothing but disappointment. The storyline was convoluted, jumping from one poorly explained crypto heist to another without ever making sense of the stakes involved. The characters were as flat as day-old soda, lacking any depth or development to make us care about their fates. Even worse, the attempts at suspense fell flat with predictable plot twists that were more yawn-inducing than shocking. Save your time and money for a film that actually delivers on its promises.

Crypto Shadows is a multiple award-winning collaboration between Amy Kay DuBoff and James Fox, who themselves are acclaimed award-winners in writing and other artistic fields. It is a superb techno-thriller starring Mikayla Iverson, who is the only actor whose face appears on screen. She more than holds her own as she is stalked and eventually hunted by an unnamed clandestine agency, after she stumbles into a mind numbing secret in the course of her work.

Miss Iverson's character, Cara Hammond, is forced to try to determine who is after her, and why, as her computer defenses, personal identity, and ultimately, her very life are attacked at her remote location.

Crypto Shadows is a fast-paced, suspense-filled film showcasing beautiful scenery and outstanding acting and writing, and the viewer does not need to be technically savvy to appreciate and enjoy it.

As someone who really appreciates art it was hard to look over how beautiful and interesting the set of this film. It felt so real. Also the stark contrast of the wilderness surrounding the technological hidey -hole was really interesting.

As for the story I was not sure I'd be able to keep up with the deeper meaning of the story because I'm not a tech savvy person at all but anyone could get into this. The suspense was killing me, and things got pretty heated. When I finally got to the part where I realized why everything was happening I did not want this movie to end. I don't want to leave any spoilers here but this is the first time I've ever seen this concept in a movie and I have sooo many questions.

I feel there is more left in this story and I am keeping my fingers crossed that there is more to come!!

What an intriguing story line!

It might be a little harder to follow at first for those who aren't all that tech savvy (like me!), but stick around. You will not be disappointed!

With a screenplay co-written by one of my favorite authors, I expected it to be interesting, but I was blown away by just how good it was. It's thoughtful, current, and resourceful, laced with plenty of intrigue and realistic characters. Absolutely worth the download!

Dramatic plot twists, great character development, and an ending that is conclusive, yet leaves the door open for more (a sequel, perhaps? Maybe a series?), this movie will definitely make you think!

With the subject of my review you might be even more confused, I know that with a title like "crypto..." I expect the movie to be 100% technology based, and it is but put in a way that even if you are not a geek you will be pulled into the story and the drama. If you are tech savvy, you'll enjoy it deeply, albeit some little flukes that I'm sure are put there to make it more amicable to the not really techy.

The plot is very engaging and even that there is only one face in the whole movie, the actress carries the weight very well.

If you get thru the movie once, you'll enjoy it even more the second timer around.

For those that are followers off the authors, everything falls in place at the right moment.

100% recommended if you are into thrillers and drama, but if you are also into sci-fi, this is a must watch.

I am new to sci-fi movies and elderly so it took me a while to catch on to the modern day lingo and computer language. The location and the hidden office entrance where the young lady was doing her work gave me an eerie feeling. Every time she was entering or leaving I was on the edge of my seat as I thought something tragic was about to happen. Along with the country side scenes, the well developed character and the alien contact and assailants I was intrigued all through the film. The fear for the well being of the young lady was growing steadily in my mind as the movie moved to the end. I am hoping there will be a future episode.

Crypto Shadows did not disappoint! Honestly speaking I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but this kept my attention and on the edge of my seat! Once I started the movie I wasn't able to stop.

Throughout the movie you become more and more emotionally invested in Cara, the main character. People who pay attention to detail will appreciate her character. She's is very relative to young adults to even those in their mid 30-40's today. Makayla Iverson portrays Cara's character well!

With most thrillers I can pretty much always figure out the ending... but not in Crypto Shadows! It had me guessing, and I was way off! It was a pleasant surprise not knowing what to expect. It kept the mystery from start to finish! On top of that, it was family friendly so my kids were able to watch it with me and get into it as well.

This is really fun, and a surprising ride!

Watching the wild discoveries unfold for the lead character feels like what it could have been like seeing a young Fox Mulder before the X-Files existed.

Crypto Shadows isn't X-Files, it's more relevant to today than that.

The lead does a great job showing strength and resilience in the face of the unknown. Terror contained just so shows how well written the character and scenes really are.

Amy Duboff is a fantastic writer, and her work translates incredibly to the screen.

Film more of her works, this only gets more amazing from here, and I'm here for it.

Crypto Shadows captivated my attention from beginning to end. The slow dynamic build of story and character development took me on a dramatic and suspenseful journey that culminated in a thrilling climax and an unexpected resolution.

Mikayla Iverson's performance was outstanding. Her raw and emotional portrayal of Cara, a woman seeking solace on a secluded family ranch after a life-altering trauma, left me with a sense of both compassion and an understanding of the resilience of the human condition.

This film was beautifully shot and edited with inspirirational direction and sound design. I would highly recommend taking the time to indulge in this nail biting, dramatic cinematic experience. You won't be disappointed!
