    Loved This Episode

Neil Patrick Harris knocks it out if the park once again as Barney Stinson as "How I Met Your Mother" this was a really fun episode, Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan are both excellent

Plot in A Paragraph: It's approaching Valentine's Day 2011, and Barney has renamed the 13th "Desperation Day" for all the single, desperate women who feel the need to hook-up with anyone by the end of the day so as not to be alone on the 14th, he also vows to be home by midnight alone so that he say he doesn't have a date on Valentine's. Barney has a laser tag date as friends with Robin on the actual day. Romance is not looking good for the rest of the gang. Robin is spending the day before Valentine's with some single girlfriends from work in protest of Valentine's. Even Lily and Marshall are not going to be spending it watching "Predator" together like every year, as Marshall is still in Minnesota helping his mother after the passing of his father. And Ted and Zoey have decided to take their relationship at a snail's pace.

Any episode that features the brilliant Neil Patrick Harris's character Barney Stinson in the main storyline is always excellent. I could go on and on about the brilliance of this episode, and in particular Neil Patrick Harris but I won't bore you with it.

I'm still not liking Zoe, but guess I have to put up with her. Two new additions I did like was, "Marshpillow" I loved it, and I really liked Nazanin Boniadi as Nora, Robins co worker and possible love interest for Barney. I hope we see more of her.

    • Trivia
The shirt that Marshall wears throughout the episode says 'Tarkenton Physical Education' on it. Fran Tarkenton was the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings for most of the 60s and 70s where Marshall is from.
    • Goofs
At the end of the episode when Marshall surprises Lily back at the apartment, he comes from the left, which is their kitchen, and Lily is sitting closer to the door, meaning somehow he got in without her realizing it and circled back around.
    • Quotes

Marshall Eriksen: I miss my dad, Ted... I miss him so much.

      Ted Mosby: I know.

Marshall Eriksen: When I was a kid, we would spend the summers in the upper peninsula. And every year we wouldn't get in the cabin till the middle of the night. And so, it'd be pitch black in the middle of the woods. I could never see anything in front of the headlights, but I always felt so safe... cause my dad was driving. He was like some sort of superhero that could just see way out into the darkness... and now he's just gone, and it's pitch black. I can't see where I'm going. I can't see anything...
