A gripping conclusion to season two as HG shows her true colours

Following on from the previous episode Pete and Myka wake up inside Warehouse 2. HG has left and the building is filling with sand. There is a second way out but that is high above their heads. Not surprisingly they manage to get out and are reunited with Artie. HG is traced to Paris, where her daughter is buried but Pete and Myka just miss her. It soon becomes apparent that she has been making plans since before she was bronzed to acquire the two sections of an artefact dubbed the world's first weapon of mass destruction. To make matters worse she has sent a dangerous artefact to Pete's girlfriend Kelly so his life is in danger.

This was a really enjoyable conclusion to season two. There are many interesting artefacts; mostly used by HG to advance her diabolical plan... I particularly liked the way she attempted to dispatch a Parisian lawyer and the items she gave Kelly. There are some nice surprises before the final confrontation as well as an ending that will have one wondering about the future of one of the team... not the cliff-hanger of season one but still good enough to make me wonder what will happen next. The cast are all on fine form both in the dramatic scenes and at the more emotional moments. Overall a fine conclusion to the season and the HG Wells plot arc.
