A Trusted Man is one of the worse movies I'd ever seen. After a 2-year relationship, Sonia tells her boyfriend, Tom, she got a work promotion, accepted, and planned on relocating. Just up and go. Being female, I believe women are free to do as they please, but in a long-term affair, at the minimum, attempt to resolve an issue. I do not condone Tom's actions, but when two people are in love, or one spouse assumes his/her partner loves him/her, is it not normal to sit down and discuss options? I mean, two-years?? The same applies to men. It doesn't take the FBI to figure out who's doing the stalking. Minutes after watching A Trusted Man, I figured out the ending. Trusted Man is non-Challenging. Non-Suspense. Seems to me the screen-writer, attempted putting a story together, without much contemplation.
Here we go. The storyline is so linear that it makes the movie hard to watch. You always know what the next steps will be. No surprises there. All the turns of events can be predicted, somewhat looks like the screenplay was written in a way to make it easy to understand even for the family dog. Note that we are talking about a thriller!!! Where is the thrill, the suspense, the biting of your fingernails?! Seriously! There are a number of points where you know that in real life this and that cannot/would never happen. And these all happen at moments that are crucial for the storyline. So bottom line: Don't waste your time with this movie. I can't believe I am actually wasting time on typing up this review... just wanted to spare you the disappointment.
I am still trying to make it through to the end of this movie. As with som many Lifetime movies, there are no likable characters. Charisma Carpenter's character is an absolute moron. She sealed her unlikability for me when in day one at her new job, she parked in two spaces by parking over the line.
Then during an important meeting in which she is presenting and her boss is there, she leaves her phone on, and actually reads the text during her presentation!?! Because it was the guy she was lusting for in the art gallery!? I mean SERIOUSLY? What is she-15 years old?
Charisma Carpenter is unconvincing in this role and is very annoying and unlikable. Not a great actress. She was as annoying in this as she was in The Expendables.
And Mr. Supercop strolls into Boston wearing an NYPD uniform? (Not sure if this is right).
The art gallery owner-why was she attracted to him? He was creepy. Even so, she treated him terribly.
Just no to this. I don't even care how it ends.

The cop just cared about her well-being and safety. Women really never seem to know what's best for them. He protected her from a potentially dangerous guy, even though he had to use secretive and manipulative means to accomplish that - but to what lengths would any of us go to protect the people we love?
I don't know that the movie itself was particularly good. The acting is average, the cinematography is very made-for-tv, as well as the sets and lighting. But they combine to describe a hell for men which exists and has existed for all of history - a total misunderstanding of our purpose and action.

This woman is not very good when it comes to decision making.
Firstly , she decides to accept a job offer which requires her to relocate to another city , even though she is in a 2 year relationship with boyfriend Tom. Now, call me old fashioned but, I do think that is a little hasty and inconsiderate ??
Secondly , she walks into an art gallery looking to purchase a piece to decorate her new apartment, and is quickly talked into buying a painting which a child could have produced in play school!!!!!
And she paid 1400 hundred dollars for it , What ????
Does this woman ever stop to think ?
So , based on what I saw from the start of this movie, I am not rating it well .
It continued to be both predictable and not very exciting .
I saw it through to the end , but , really , if you are planning on watching this, just don't expect to be thrilled .

- GoofsTom's radio was tuned to receive ham radio and aircraft frequencies so he would not have heard phone calls and police.
