This would have gotten 8 or 9 stars from me, if the fight scenes hadn't been recorded by someone with adhd and parkinsons, after drinking 10 cups of coffee.

I have loved TopBoy from the original series and was so happy it was resurrected, the first 2 new series gave me everything I wanted and was joy to watch. I loved the characters and Sully in particular was the Topboy the enacting was great and storylines were well written, Sadly the final series has left me underwhelmed, the six part series just felt like it was rushed, there is no real storyline flipping from immigration protests to evri toon protests Tia little bit of what we all tuned in for.
To me Sully again showed he was the Topboy and Dushane just did not fit the part, but what I think let me down was the ending, I have seen many shows that failed to deliver and I think this unfortunately is one of them, the last part was entertaining in parts and showed us all what we expected from the series but it was predictable that as we knew this was the last season all dates were obvious.

It's calm. For sure. But is it gucci. Debatable.
It's a great watch and Kano is absolutely incredible. Without a doubt, if he wanted to be, he could be a super star in the filim/TV industry.
Some of the other actors are great, jaq for example, however some are basic. For real.
The show is compelling and the first 2 seasons are far better than the proceeding 3. There's a reason there is such a gap and if you watch them back to back, you'd be forgiven for thinking "da farq"
Do give it a watch though, if nothing else, but for the acting skills of Kano and the camos.
It's a decent "gangster" show.

It has very good story, production, filming and acting, but it was too heavy for me. With a lot of violence and no comic relief whatsoever. If you like this kind of show, you'll probably love it.

Top Boy is a great movie series that I have watched with my family. The reason why I like this is because it has action, great storyline, good actors, some funny scenes and it reminds me of London. It's about two different gangs selling drugs and then them fighting each over.
Great acting and action, good plot lines and a very realistic portrayal of life in the council estates on the outskirts of London.
It's very hard for me to believe that there is so much drug use in these no-hope environments but my sister , who lives on one of these estates up on Merseyside, tells me that it is the main driving force of existence .
Without a middle class type education you've got no chance of getting a decent paying job and the old escape hatches of emigrating to a former colony such as Canada, Australia or New Zealand have been firmly padlocked.
You used to be able to go to any number of countries in Africa and make a good living by working in the mines there but they too have closed the gates.
And that's just for the white people, imagine your prospects if you are black?
So we have acres and acres of estates which are no more than ghettoes, where the main source of income is survival money from the Government. What is there left to do but turn to crime, and what more lucrative type of crime is there than dealing drugs?
That's what you get when you give people money for staying at home
Unfortunately lucrative goes hand in hand with danger, violence and murder and this series drops us right into the middle of it.
Single Mums trying to raise kids in the middle of this mayhem don't stand a chance, once you're in you can't get out and if you screw someone over then it's exit city.
Really clever character development and empathy building make this a rare series these days, where you can honestly say that they remain focussed on the storyline and don't let political correctness and other horse manure get in the way.
I don't often say this , but I'm looking forward to the next series

The Brian Eno soundtrack really adds a lot, and I'm grateful to Drake for helping make this return.
I watched it out of order. I did the current (and last) 3 seasons, and quite enjoyed them though there was a lot of 'soap' dialogue I fast-forwarded over.
Then I went back to Summerhouse. The first 2 seasons that started it all. Much raw-er, lower budget, but very well done. I could see where the characters came from and how they had evolved.
Props to all the actors, every performance in both halves (seasons 1 and 2, then 3 through five) were exemplary.
However.
I had to stop watching 'Summerhouse' due to finding out that a stupid, cheap, horror-writer's trick had been employed to elicit audience sympathy. I can't go into details without spoiling, but essentially it's something script-writers should have grown out of by now, and it should not have made final review. Unacceptable, and I'm afraid I couldn't continue. Your stomach may be stronger or your soul smaller. Good luck.
For what I did manage to see, with responsible writing, it was indeed very good.

This show is awesome. It always has been from the beginning when it was low budget and independent. Now that Netflix has picked up the production cost, the quality is still the same. Good writing and amazing acting from a core group of relatively unknown British actors. I guess you call this, the British version of the Wire! No other urban drama has come close to Oz or the Wire, but Top Boy is nipping at the doorstep.

I'm not UK or London but, I lived in London for 7 years and I love London, I love UK. I'm from Colombia and I know the drug topic pretty well. Now I liked the serie but all this shoouts and killings and police showing latenin the scenne that's not true. I know Peckan and some areas are pretty bad and some other áreas from London too. So the series gets to way out of reality but it's wee made.
This series is very interesting since i like how "realistic" it is.
It has its good moments, the music is great and the actors are nice!
A well made series!

So much to like, but so much also to dislike.
Half way through the 2nd episode of s2 and already we have portrayals of lesbians being beaten up on the streets, black people being given notice to leave due to illegal immigration and council house fully paid for tenants being rehoused.
Then the completely unrealistic scenes whereby, drug dealing murderers befriend the first person that says hello to them, alongside kingpin gangsters going to far flung places to deal with drug mafia armies, without a care in the world. Really?
So far, it feels like I am watching a mix between a party political broadcast by the extreme left wing, chaired by Diane Abbot combined with a crime drama by Russ Abbot.

First of all, the series is good.however, the narrative speed is so fast that some plot sequences are handled in a fast pace. this makes the story extremely flat in some places and sometimes also implausible. unfortunately, many of the characters are also flat.
i think there was some potential verschwedent here so i wouldn't compare the series with the absolute super series.
