Brutal movie (not in a good way)
I really couldn't get through this one, so maybe it got better (highly doubt it). Acting was hollow on all fronts and tries too hard to be something that it is not. In a movie like this you would think that the dialogue would carry it, seeing as not much really happens throughout it, but it fails miserably at that.
This movie could not hold my attention, I happened to be channel surfing and found this. Since I like the two main actressess I figured I'd give it a try. First full half of the movie is so boring I started nodding off. Unfortunately, things never really picked up from there, so I changed the channel.
People giving this movie anywhere above a 5 are questionable. What is a good movie to you people? This was absolutely terrible. Gershon is miscast as well. Kilmer took this role strictly for the paycheck, same w/ Liotta (RIP). Who greenlit this pile of steaming dog trash? Cinematography is non-existent, dialogue is atrocious, characters incredibly unlikeable w/no redeeming quality. This is a wannabe black comedy that tries too hard and is very boring due to the lack of action and horrible dialogue.
My opinion? Find something else to watch, or don't, but you'll be kicking yourself for wasting time on this. I didn't. I quit watching. There's way better movies out there that do this type of genre far, far, better.

Definitely worth a watch.
Refreshing, funny, entertaining, great performances by a great cast. Good story with a talented director as well. I truly enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. I did not realize what a talented actress Gina Gershon was until I watched this little gem-sleeper. I have a new appreciation for her skills. The rest of the cast was great as well, no matter how small there part..I think that was the beauty of it, these legendary seasoned actors with these small parts added so much to them. I truly made me laugh out loud...especially Val Kilmer's lines..he was great! The story kept me interested from the beginning to the end of the movie. Good fun, great acting, great direction and great cast with a unique, funny script.
High ambitions
The movie starts off pretty good, but descents fast too. Still it is nice to see Val Kilmer in a decent role (does not happen that often, but then again he is not the main actor here and he doesn't have a lot to do either, so that might help the fact), plus Gina Gershon can show some things she might have learned during "Bound". Ray Liotta is a side note and the whole thing is very predictable.
Funny enough (or not): While the movie tries to be clever, the coincidences and other things that just happen conveniently, really destroy the whole thing and make you wonder, what they were thinking. The basic idea was nice and the accents are interesting too (though some might say this is a bit of a one sided look at Texas), but the overall movie fails to impress. An extra point for trying though ...

A bloody tale that spins out of control...
I actually think I have watched this 2012 movie titled "Breathless", from director Jesse Baget, once before. But I have to admit that I have entirely forgotten about it. But as I sat through it here in 2025, there were memories of the narrative resurfacing. But it wasn't wasted time revisiting the movie, because I had forgotten about it, truth be told.
Writers Jesse Baget and Stefania Moscato put together a rather unique storyline. It was pretty far out there, but it was also that very fact that made the narrative so entertaining and outstanding. It is a movie that starts out nicely, then quickly spirals into violence and betrayal.
The movie does have some familiar talents on the cast list, with the likes of Gina Gershon, Val Kilmer, Ray Liotta, Sid Vicious and Richard Riehle. The acting performances in the movie were good.
I have to admit that I toppled over laughing during the scene that determined the fate of Dale (Val Kilmer's character), it was just so random and out of the blue, and I love that.
This movie is actually well-worth spending 91 minutes on watching.
My rating of director Jesse Baget's 2012 movie "Breathless" lands on a six out of ten stars.

Imagine if Thelma and Louise had settled down
Given the nature of the film, a very smart pick for the lead character, but the rest of the character choices end up being one of the few problem areas of the film. 80 of 100.
What if the younger character in Thelma and Louise had followed the normal path, remained a waitress, grown old, and become a deteriorating middle-aged housewife? This film provides one amusingly satirical answer to that question.
Destined to be a cable and cult classic where big name actors and a big ad budget isn't necessary. The lying and counter lying mixed with the Texas setting makes it something worth repeat viewings.
