We have the action within the excellent animation we have come to expect from this Thundercats series, but there's a lot of heart in a sci-fi fantasy sort of way that makes a rather interesting blend. Tackling the heavy topic of death and hope, the lost crew finds themselves amoung unique beings with both special abilities and shortened lifespan.
Lessons of life and maturity abound in this all-ages tale, even though the show is perhaps geared toward children. Because of the intended audience, there's a layer of cheesiness to get the point across, including singing like you'd find in a Christmas cartoon special, but it counterbalances the otherwise heavy topics. A standalone story, but could certainly be the one most riveting for the spirit.
