"High On The Hog" That Stars The Legendary Character Actor Sid Haig An Superb Performance That Will Definitely Called To Be One Of His Very Best Movie Roles Of His Career Who Also Produced This Film As Well As "Big Daddy" Who Owns a Farm That Makes Large Portions Of Growing Majurana Weeds And Selling Them To The Market And Also Too This Film Features The Last Film Role For Robert D'Zar Who's Known For The Vignette Maniac Cop Character Passed Away After Filming This Film Who Plays a Character Name "Mayor Dewey". High On The Hog is Sure One Kinda Crazy An Over The Top And Violent Movie And it's a Must See Film For All Of Those Sid Haig Movie Fans Out There.
Great to see Sid in anything, I think people forget about Spider Baby and THX1138 when it comes to his career. Sid looks good in this one, much better than 3 From Hell when his illness had fully taken over. Also great to see Robert Z'Dar and Joe Estevez.
The film is a typical "homage" to grindhouse style film with the use of effects to give it a "drive-in movie" feel - jumping frames and grainy film scenes. Plenty of what we expect from B horror with all the trimmings.
I struggled to get through this one though. I watched for obligatory reasons, fan of the man Sid, fan of horror and its subgenres.

This film is trying so so so hard to be stylistic and "grind core" that any story or plot is entirely obfuscated by the hodgepodge of visuals.
This is OVER directed, OVER stylized, and ruined by that.
I generally like films that break away from the norm and try new things, but they still need to be watchable films. This wasn't even watchable for me. It made me feel as though I was having a stroke, brain seizure, or epileptic fit... and I'm not epileptic.
It's horrific in direction.. no clue what the story actual was.. I made it 20 minutes in before my brain was just screaming at me to stop the torture.

This movies story and plot is right up the alley of what a grudge movies is about. The way it was filmed and done is what makes this movie amazing. Kevin Lockhart did an outstanding job on this film.
The way it was filmed and put together was epic. To also see a lot of great actors come together in one film was also a big factor in it. The producers, directors and writers nailed it! This is the true meaning of a well put together grind house/indie film.
