    Unique and Eye-opening

This is the first review I'm writing on IMDb.

I loved this movie. It's fun to see great and creative people making such good and interesting movies with such a low budget. The make up and masks in this movie are absolutely fantastic. The actor who plays Benji is absolutely great and I love the fact that they bring up gender roles like how "boys shouldn't play with dolls" because this is such an important question nowadays.

I love the story and the trippy moments. Great camera-work, awesome stop motion, awesome story and awesome acting.

Don't miss out on this one.

    Nudity

Within the first 5 seconds of this movie a woman takes off her shirt and then her bra - both breasts are visible.

Fun horror movie tribute to 80s movies

First of all, I believe this might be my first movie review so excuse me if it isn't all that good! OK so I just had the pleasure of watching Dolly Deadly and wow, what a great movie. The use of real effects was awesome. The movie keeps you interested the whole way through. The kid Benji did a great acting job and from what I understand this was his first movie. Right now the movie is streaming on amazon but after watching it, I decided to grab a copy for my horror collection. I'd say that if you're a casual horror fan definitely check it out. If you're a huge horror buff then DEFINITELY check it out!

    Just downright terrible...

Well, truth be told, then I wasn't really harboring much of any expectations to the 2016 movie "Dolly Deadly" from writers Heidi Moor and Cassandra Sechler. Why? Well, I had never heard about the movie, and its cover and its synopsis wasn't really particularly impressive. But I do believe in giving a movie a fair chance, so of course I opted to watch "Dolly Deadly".

Well, a whole staggering 25 minutes of the 85 minutes running time. This movie was just atrociously bad. It felt like it was written by a preschooler for a show and tell project. The storyline was just downright bland and mediocre, but the acting is what killed off the movie for me. Justin Moore (playing Benji) actually put on the most impressive performance in this movie, and we are talking about a child actor outclassing all the adults here.

Visually then I will say that "Dolly Deadly" was somewhat of an acquired taste. This is not your average mainstream movie, so that at least counted for something. But the movie was just never off to a flying start, given the lousy writing and the terrible acting.

The whole movie just oozed with an amateurish feel, and it is not something I enjoy when I sit down to watch a movie. I am sure that those involved were having a blast making "Dolly Deadly", but I sat down to be entertained, which didn't happen here.

My rating of "Dolly Deadly" lands on a one out of ten stars.

    1970s-reminiscent B horror camp!

Loaded with yummy 1970s-reminiscent B horror camp! I felt like I was 11 years old again in front the TV watching Bob Wilkins's Friday night Creature Features! ♡ Bravo Heidi Moore! I have been a fan of 1970s B horror since I was a kid, "Troll 2" being among my very favorites. This kind of horror is a lost art, in my opinion, but apparently not completely extinct, thanks to Heidi Moore and Wretched Productions. Thanks for the blast from the past, Wretched! And aside from those aspects, I really appreciated the calling out of gender programming and brainwashing of our children when it comes to what toys, etc they can or cannot play with. We are on the horizon of a new kid's culture where delineations between "girls' and boys' toys" — between dolls and dump trucks trucks — will be an archaic notion.
