A film based on the life of Captain Sandra Perron - a woman who moved mountains and shattered limits that others thought impossible. She did it with exceptional leadership, unmatched strength of character, and unwavering passion.
A true leader - that's Captain Sandra Perron.
And even today, through The Pepper Pod, she continues to support strong women across Canada. Her resilience has touched even the hardest of hearts. Go see the movie in English or In French Québécois. Se film vient d'ouvrir des portes de possibilités pour un monde meilleur.

5.6/10 (Sort of Recommend)
When I saw the trailer for this film I wasn't excited, but I was definitely interested to see what it was about. The story itself is interesting, harrowing in some details, but subsurface on a lot of others. While the film doesn't fully do the justice I believe Capt (ret'd) Perron deserves, I'm very interested in acquiring the book and reading in more detail about her life and career.
What disappoints me most about the movie is that it feels more like a "I'm sorry this happened to you" and less about "thanks for being a prime example of woman empowerment". I'm not trying to downplay what happened to Capt (ret'd) Perron because it was completely unacceptable, but based on the brief interviews I saw, and what they attempted to show in the film, is that she wanted to be remembered for her accomplishments. And I didn't get the complete vibe that that's what they were aiming for. Another lack that I wasn't a fan of was the lack of emotions. I wasn't sad or angry. I just was. The off-handed military style comments were either sighs of disappointment or just little chuckles.
Overall, I think it's slightly worth seeing the film, but wait until it releases on a streaming service. It felt underwhelming paying to see it in theatres. In all seriousness though, despite the lack of emotional drive to fully appreciate the story, I still think and appreciate what Capt (ret'd) Perron went through truly did pave the way for others even if we're not fully aware of what she went through on a personal level.
That's it for now. Thanks for taking time to read my review. Happy watching and enjoy the show!
