Unexpected Surprise

Patrick Jane uses the information of Kira Tinsley to arrange a meeting with Sheriff Thomas McAllister, FBI Agent Reede Smith, CBI Director Gale Bertram, Private Investigator Ray Haffner, and Visualize leader Bret Stiles in his home. Meanwhile, he meets Lisbon and leaves her at beachside to protect her. When he joins his five suspects at home, he forces them to show their left shoulder with a shotgun and has a surprise.

"Fire and Brimstone" is one of the last chapters oh "The Mentalist" with the quest of Patrick Jane to find the abominable Red John. The conclusion of the show is a great surprise to the viewers that are certainly looking forward to watching the conclusion. My vote is nine.

Trivia
Brett Stiles ensconcing himself at the Ecuadorian consulate, outside the jurisdiction of CBI (and the whole US for that matter), appears to be a nod to the real-life situation of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. In June 2012, in order to avoid extradition to Sweden on sexual assault charges, Assange sought (and was eventually granted) political asylum at the embassy of Ecuador in London, England. Unlike Stiles, Assange remained confined to the embassy for over 6½ years, until Ecuador rescinded his asylum status in April 2019.

Goofs
It had not been proved that Kira Tinsley was killed by Red John.

It doesn't matter at this point, as long as they believed she was (and they had no reason to doubt it), it was good enough for the time being.
