Hazard Jack

All I have to say is, paintball guns? Against a crazy murderer? Come on now, put this movie right in the trash. Sooooo stupid. I couldn't even tolerate the overall low quality of this. The only good part was boobs. I'm sure their parents are proud.

What is this movie rated? Is there a rating for "nobody should watch this or allow their girlfiend/sons/relatives/friends to watch it"?

Anyway, if you're into paintball, (and/or) bondage, snuff, strip games, sadomaso, mutilations, doing all those things simoultaneously in an abandoned hospital supposedly inhabited by ghosts and actually inhabited by a muscular psychotic serial killer well known to the authorities that for some reason, are doing absolutely nothing about that, you're in for a weekend you'll never forget!

I have to admit that I love seeing dumb characters dying in very silly ways, so I am one of those perverts that almost died laughing watching this. Now you've been warned, will you play?

Hazard Jack is the tale of a hulking combat vet suffering from PTSD who takes up residence in an abandoned hospital and kills unsuspecting visitors with an assortment of power tools and other sharp implements. A group of young people visit the hospital for a weekend of paintball wargames (and partying), and they naturally cross paths with Jack. There's nothing new or surprising to be found here, but Hazard Jack ticked the right boxes: creepy location, backstory, masked killer, murders (including one very fun and gory set piece). Some of the main characters were even likeable, although the script still fell into the "no way would all these people be friends" trap. The only thing that didn't fit was a ham handed closing credits sequence showing homeless vets and other skid row residents while a maudlin tune played but I can overlook that. I've seen hundreds of slasher flicks over the years, and Hazard Jack sits comfortably in the upper middle of the pile.

I can appreciate the good intentions and the attempt to raise awareness of a disorder, but still the making of the film remains shoddy, silly dialogue and jumping through hoops that honestly made me laugh, the plot is one of a group of fools going to an abandoned hospital to party where there is a whiny killer.

There are a few characters I found annoying (with the exception of the gay couple, honestly I wanted them to die, and the killer does us the courtesy of having eliminated them) to say there is an aspiring filmmaker who I thought was supposed to document the hospital but instead he gets to shoot gonzo porn, then there are two primate couples who do nothing but undress and have sex at inappropriate times as if they were bonobos, however the only characters I liked were the ones who survived and also the gay couple.

I also found funny the realization of the scene where the killer throws an axe, which was ridiculous to say the least.

HAZARD JACK is an appalling film. A would-be slasher with zero plot, zero acting ability, and zero reason to watch, it marks a true nadir for this genre and is even worse than shot-on-video trash like the CAMP BLOOD movies. It's hard to believe that the guy who directed this, David Worth, once handled the likes of KICKBOXER back in the day.

Hazard Jack is a psychotic killer and former soldier, suffering from PTSD and deranged by the violence he's experienced in combat. A group of distasteful twentysomething characters enter the abandoned hospital where he hides out and he proceeds to bump them off one by one before the inevitable showdown with the survivors.

Everything about HAZARD JACK is tacky and cheap. The gore effects, although plentiful, are poorly achieved and look bargain basement style. The acting is so amateurish it's not even worth mentioning. There's ample nudity here, but the women are all of the silicon-enhanced variety. The narrative follows the old 'have sex and die' formula resolutely without ever adding its own spin or twists into the mix. The script is rubbish. HAZARD JACK truly is an awful film.
