Alec in WILDerland

I really love this show. It is very entertaining and also very informative. Alec tells us so much about nature, exploring and adventuring outdoors. Each episode Alec demonstrates something new, for instance shelter building, tips about fishing, tells us about the nature, different animals, survival techniques and so many useful things! The locations where the show is filmed are very beautiful and very varied. Several episodes have been filmed on locations in Texas, like the beach, the desert or at rivers but there also some from South Africa, Australia and other states of the US. There are winter special and much more. Overall a great show!

I have watched this young man grow and mature and believe me this is not a one of kind video or film. This young man Alec lives this adventure every day of his life and he will contunue to inspire boys and girls to get off of their rear ends and experience the great world outdoors. Keep in mind that this is a work in progress. It is written by and stars a young lad who's story-telling and cinematic skills are developing and being exercised. It also has the very laudable goal of encouraging kids to get off their butts and out from in front of their game and computer consoles and interact with the real world. Alec's episode on children who want to interact with the real world being classified as "an endangered species" show that this lad has his eyes open and his brain in gear: and is also motivated to do something about what he sees. It is an enterprise and a process that is well worth supporting -- to encourage it to grow and get even better.

Early episodes are just that. Early attempts. I found them a little plodding at times; but kids respond very well to another kid out doing things like this. As Alec grows and starts to have more fun with the process I found myself laughing out loud at his sheer exuberance to be out playing and interacting with nature.

Later episodes fold in awareness of endangered species and introduce younsters to the notion that a valuable part of their natural heritage is in peril and they need to say something and act before it is lost.

I wholeheartedly support this process and look forward to seeing what this aspiring young film-maker with a good cause will come up with next.

Alec never ceases to amaze me with his varied WILD adventures. I have enjoyed seeing him grow in stature in his productions. I once asked Alec who writes his scripts. I was impressed when he told me he makes his commentary on the fly in real time. That proves he knows his subject so well. And he often peppers his talk with humor. I also love his inviting smile as he tells his stories. Oh boy can he make faces to embellish what he is telling us! I love it.

From Alec's early beginnings of seemingly random adventures he has moved on to creating geographic centered topics of tremendous scope. Notably his adventures all across the US were very enlightening. Alec proved very inventive in finding wild creatures in the desert in his ARABIA WILD adventure. I loved how he focused on the sea in his Costa Rica WILD adventure. I particularly admire the respect for the environment Alec has as is very evident in his episode about the Rhinos. And when he catches sea creatures, unless they are meant for a meal he releases them back into the water after explaining to his audience the details of his catch.

As the Alec in WILDerland series has progressed he has involved other adventures younger than he is. I found his adventure with the boy scouts very moving in how he embraced the good work they do and the way he integrated their activities into his WILD exploration. He was able to find a new collaborator in Jack who will be involved with his new monthly series designed to educate us about nature and how to protect endangered species and respect the environment. I can hardly wait!

Alec is also a skilled actor and could have built a career in that direction. But he has chosen to be a champion of our planet and all that is good in it. Alec is not only a role model for young people everywhere, but also an inspiration for us adults of every age. I love what Alec does and am very proud of him. He will be turning 17 soon I do believe. Alec has achieved more in his short life than most if us achieve in a lifetime. And he has accomplished this with personal physical challenges that has required ongoing surgeries to help him overcome them.

I highly recommend what Alec does in the area of WILD video productions to everyone. Bravo Alec J Fischer may you entertain us with your WILD adventures and future productions as long as possible.
