I shamelessly stole the title of this review from another user's comments on the episode because it really captures the essence of the show.
Ted Danson is excellent and brings his character to life, but all the surrounding cast deserves praise (I'm looking at you, McKinley!)
Please give the screenwriter some reams of paper, plenty of pens (or a really fast word processor) and lock him in a room somewhere without distractions so he can write as many shows like this as possible.
Some details of the script made me shed a tear and, well, I cannot remember the last time it happened.
As a series finale it was quite satisfying and it ties up all loose ends, and the hook for the next season is not a huge cliffhanger like some other series - even if I for one will watch Season 2 as soon as it comes out.

The finale of A Man on the Inside lands exactly where it needs to. Even though parts of it are predictable, the execution is so balanced and heartfelt that I didn't mind at all.
This episode brings together the season's emotional strands with real care, giving the characters proper space to grow and connect. The detective storyline plays a clearer role again, but it never overwhelms the relationships... it simply nudges the plot toward resolution.
Ted Danson gives his strongest performance yet, with a calm, centred energy that carries the episode. The supporting cast shine too, especially in the warmer ensemble scenes that feel like a payoff for everything the show has been building.
It's a finale that favours sincerity over spectacle, and that choice works beautifully. For me, this was a fitting and genuinely satisfying cap to the season. A solid 8.5/10.
